We regularly hear that we were the better team this season. Likewise, we also regularly hear that we have been on the rough end of many refereeing decision so far.

Our results however do not reflect this. The fact is that if the first statement were true, then the lack of decisions wouldn't really matter because being the superior team, we would be winning 70-80% of the time anyway.

It's time to see things clearly and the reality is that we are in big trouble. You can have all the possession you want and play the prettiest football going but if you do not score many you will beaten by most of the teams in this division who are capable of scoring at least one goal a game.

We have no cutting edge. In most peoples eyes, Jonathan Kodjia is the real deal, the best natural, instinctive striker we have had for many years. He makes top class strikers runs but sadly, he gets mediocre service at best and most times, no one is intelligent enough to play the quick passes that he needs and would thrive on.

I have been patient and backed the manager so far but the alarm bells are now ringing, VERY LOUDLY. I don't blame the players, the fault lies squarely at the feet of the manager who has failed to realise that keeping possession and pushing the ball around for long enough that we over power inferior opposition IS NOT GOING TO WORK IN THIS DIVISION.

I would like SC to take us to more success but unless he gets a bit more tactically savvy pretty quick, I fear that this is not going to happen. The ponderously slow and predictable game that we play is easy for most teams to read and we are like a fly weight, prettily but ineffectively jabbing away at a super heavyweight who eventually decides it is time to lands the knockout blow.

Quicker and more incisive football is required to utilise our best asset or someone will take him in January and we will be well and truly stuffed. The prospect of opening the new stand in League One is looming ever nearer on the horizon....

It's refreshing to hear the real truth prem and I have been dancing around the same thought process, and have said so right here.

The facts of the matter are that we were not prepared during the off season and the team has no soul, balance or hope. Why on earth the club keep putting out statements that make excuses ad infinitum has given me concern almost from the off. How much longer do we we have to come up with the same questions and continue to receive the incorrect answers? I have never known a football club that must think their followers are idiots by feeding them the same lines time and time again and expecting them to bow in deference.

The recent release from Ashton Gate was close to the final straw for me and my reaction to basically being told we can't consider competing in the Championship was a blow to my lifelong support, even if it is from afar. How can you expect the faithful who followed the club to Wembley (including me), and were there in their thousands for matches both home and away, to sit back and accept that we're probably going back where we started yet again?

I am lost for words and saying something to the effect that we are a poorly run organisation might just raise the hackles of some posters does it makes me ask why are we so inept when it comes to real success? Last season was a success, but in essence it was a means to an end, getting us to where we are today and now we are throwing the toys out of the pram complaining that it's not for us. What an insult to the supporters, and although I might be getting older by the minute my memory makes me scream that we've been hearing the same old crap for years when it comes down to success when we are almost there.

There is something in the DNA of Bristol City that smells like mediocrity and lack of focus and I am now really stating to question as to whether there is an agenda within Bristol Sport that precludes us from going forward? Look at all the examples around the country of smaller population base teams that have achieved growth and success and ask yourselves whether you have ever seen that kind of commitment and growth from Bristol City? Excuses don't cut it anymore and if you don't like the rules then do something positive to advocate change in the system and not just sit on your backsides feeding bullshit to the faithful and expect them to sing your praises.

    Absolutely hopeless.

P.S. What did the Forest fans say about him when he arrived? Not up to the challenge of higher football?

Just watched the post match interview with SC on BCFC World. Our problem now is that the referees are ganging up on us and their decisions have not been in our favour all season leading to our current dilemma. Wake up man because if expect us to believe there's a conspiracy against us them may I remind you that generally over a season those things even up and I didn't hear you mention the times when decisions have gone our way. Poor teams always blame the referee for their losses, but I reckon when you are as inept as us then your style of play is the usual suspect along with the manager.

To be honest he looks a defeated man and I wouldn't wish that emotion on him, or anyone else, but the false position we are in demands action. Where we go from here remains the question of the day but the status quo can no longer be an option unless someone else decides to stay the course back to League One for some inexplicable reason. Frankly I don't know anymore and the time when I don't care is just around the corner.

I don't want Cotts gone and been impressed with him. But today I do blame the result on him, and here's why.
    1. Nathan Baker should of been hauled off straight after the warning. Lambert saw his player lost his head and within a minute of the booking he was subbed.
    2. When you lose a defending player you sacrifice a forward to shore up the defence the game was nil nil and you revert to a flat 4-4-1 99% managers do this. Good he took of Agard and replaced him with Moore but still stayed with this 3 at the back stuff that's going to haunt him.
    3. We then went 0-1 down so he takes off Freeman (who has disappointed me this season) and replaces him with Wilbraham.
So take off a forward with a bit of pace, and to finally put another forward on with no pace when the game is opened up with them pressing for more.
    4. Blame the pitch, both teams have to play on it so it's equally bad or good for them as well.

Nathan Baker and any other footballer reading this, show the ref some respect if he's blowing the whistle and gesturing you towards him. Then you go towards him to save someone getting pissed of with you. Most people if they are like me would be from mild mood to pissed off mood in a few seconds of being ignored.
This don't happen in rugby, so why do footballers not learn to show the ref some respect.

Anyway I'm laughing at Chelsea fans at the moment.

Today summed up my true feeling,SC has to go,facts are if we carry on in the same way we will be relagated.
Today was his mistake,he lost the game,to keep blaming officials is crazy.
The reality is ony a couple of players are championship material excluding the on loan players. The rest are not good enough. The management need five to six players just to keep us up,and ten to compete in the championship.
SC seems to put the blame elsewhere, sorry sentiment cannot stand in the way, last season was excellent, this season is poor, the chance was there to take the club forward, however that has been well and truely lost this season.

Spot on Red Robin. Remember the recent years when we spent most of our previous time in this division complaining about our lot in life and doing nothing positive about our situation? Sounds eerily similar to me and if we approach this crisis in the same haphazard way we are doomed. Unfortunately I, and many others, have lost total faith in the ability of our club to get it right.

Funny that I work in an company that has plants all other the country, and the Forest fans from there all say they feel they got rid of him too soon. And one or two said that was SoD's problem not having a plan B..

I don't want him gone by a long shot, if the season ends with us going down I wouldn't want anyone else to bring us back up like he did.

SO you would be happy with relagation, mmmm
I tell you what i doubt he would bring us back up ROD.
The club would be down on it knees and that takes time to rectify.

I would like Nigel Pearson or Neil Warnock down here.

Personally think SC is on the slippery slope.

Let's face it the only manager that has been on our radar that came with any fanfare and experience was Steve Coppell, who ran for the hills so rapidly that it made me wonder what he saw and why he left. Since then we have brought in somewhat lesser managers and have struggled every time to gain prominence.

We need to enter the world that will get us a proven manager, ala Jurgen Klopp, who has the brain to turn around our fortunes and develop a future based on sound footballing practices. I can dream can't I, but in the back of my mind I want to say - here we go again.
