I have never had a bad word to say about NP and his backroom staff but let's be brutally honest about where we are as a team under Pearson . Only Donny and Coventry have scored less goals this season . For the most part our home performances have been ****ing awful as well . We average less than a goal a game under his management . If we lose our next couple of games ( a realistic possibility) we'll probably be mid table and below half way. Bollocks , we're best rid of him . He's ****.
Nigel i'm sure you'll be in the unemployment line in a few months. Hope u're satisfied seu boi de merda!!
Not sure I agree with the sentiments of the OP. We're flying high and I'm convinced we'd have gone up this year or next under Pearson. I'm as pissed off as him as the anyone is but I'm not going to start pretending he's ****. I'm really worried about who we'll get next, and the possibly disruptive impact it could have on the team.
They need to get in quickly a manager like McClaren, he can steady the ship with the youngsters, with Nick Barmby as his understudy.
I'm actually excited about all this. Pearson is great yes and has done wonderful things, but the goals tally doesn't lie and it was exactly the same last year aswell so it's not entirely down to bad luck. As long as we get a competent manager who plays attractive football I will be very happy and won't miss Nige too much. The only thing is, the last few games Nige has really broke out of his shell and gone out attacking and we've played some beautiful stuff. If that was to carry on then it would be more of a blow.
Yeah but with our good defence-bad attack policy we've been steadily improving for ages and have been flirting with the playoffs. Sides like Leeds whoo are the opposite seem to fall apart when it matters, I'd hate for us to be like that.
I will sincerly miss NP as he is a great manager and has done wonders for the club, but i still can't hide the fact that their are some really good unemployed managers who would be worth a shot.
The thing is, Pearson has already coached the defence to be so solid, all a new manager has to do is come in and play them. As long as he doesn't make a massive tactical change and ask them to sit on the halfway line, they already know what they're doing and can't see them loosening up just because a new managers in charge. The main thing I'm hoping for is for the new manager to tell the midfield to get forwards and run infront of the strikers, that will set us up alot more attacking. I honestly can't remember one time in the last year and a bit one of our central midfielders has got infront of the strikers, if you can feel free to share, but it's as if theres a forcefield at our front line that the midfield can't pass.
NP is on a lose lose situation as a manager and feel he could mirror Peter Taylor. On the financial front he is on a win win situation. At the end of this season if Leicester don't get promoted he will be sacked and get a good payoff - set up for life. If he gets promoted he gets his bonus - then he gets sacked. The Leicester owners will want a manager with 'charisma', similar to Blackburn and DQPR. Blackburn owners got rid of big Sam, the only thing saving Warnock was the change of owners. So he will be out of a job but his financial future will be secure for his family. That I think is why he's left. Unfortunately it will not be the same for Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh, but hey, there's always some casualties along the way.
I'm also hoping we hang onto Walsh. I think alot of Pearsons success has been in no small part down to this man and his eye for a bargain. Can't remember us ever having a good scout before, losing him will be a huge blow.
Good points especially the last 2 lines. But they will also get good pay offs. They work as a trio. Maybe there next stop will be a club in Sheffield. ?
