We didn't even table a bid. Dick finds him suspect defensively so wasn't interested. We need wingers and an attacking midfielder and are not even in the market for a CM at the moment until the priorities are addressed, nice try though.<doh> The mag obsession continues, you could enjoy a very good signing but first port of call is make it about Sunderland. How sad for you :emoticon-0136-giggl

    So only two comments here:
1st: i took this off the RTG sunderland board, its clearly a joke. (Also there is a 110 page thread so clearly you are the only mackem that didn't want him<laugh><laugh><confused>)
2nd: For you to say advocaat would not want this guy is so naive its not even funny. He's better than anything you've got. How is he not an attacking midfielder? He scored 18 goals last season!

    Two answers.
    1. Obviously it's a joke, weak as it is, written by a kid and promoted on here be an Adult(by age) I never said I didn't want him anywhere, weak word twisting there, I would have loved him but trust my Manager and his reasons for not nothing, look on the other thread where'd you have saved yourself a lot of embarresment had you read it before posting that.
    2. I thought you'd pull this. Advocaart 100% did not want him, he doesn't fit the way we're going. You're clearly unaware of the situation so let me enlighten you. We're at an advanced stage of signing Jeremain Lens, Lens and Wijnaldum both played under Advocaat. Are you with me? Ready to see what a bit of research can achieve instead of dumbarse, dim vacant comments? From 2012 http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/psv/20958071/___Wijnaldum__Lens_ongelukkig___.html It's already well established they don't work well togther. <doh>

Wijnaldum a box to box/AM we need an AM/SS, totally different type of player for a different system needed for us.;)

Dude you just posted an article in dutch from 2012 regarding chemistry between him and a player you haven't even signed yet? Regardless, my view is that ellis is not willing to fund a deal of that magnitude anyway so no point in bickering over it. However, your ability to take some "banter" is disappointing. All of a sudden your taking personal jabs which is somewhat of a lame fallback tbh.

Why would we go for both when the gaffer already knows they don't work together in his system. Jesus man, it's not rocket science <laugh>

I haven't personally abused you once. The mark of bad banter is when a person starts cryin abuse for no reason, keep on cryin son. Keep on cryin ;)

    Enjoy your evening fella. :)

    Hahahahahaha.

    I find the pic funny.

So.. Did SAFC really pay his air fair?

They probably have a lot of Avios points racked up now.

Nope ACS they didn't pay for his flight. According to Advotwaat here wijnaldum doesn't fit the profile of safc. Bridcutt and rodwell would keep him out of the team anyway<laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

Are you certain that they didn't pay for his flight, it's just that I thought they would have being our Feeder Club and wanting to keep in our good books.

By the way, any chance of you getting to one of the games coming up.

I can confirm from the SAFC fan club "You're Brambling my Johnson" that they did not pay for the flight.

I wish I could make the Portland game. I just landed an amazing job but the downside is that i'm low on the vacation totem pole. Ill be out to SJP this season.

Out of interest mate why does DA find him suspect defensively? I only ask because he's only really operated in the b2b role since LVG planted him in it in the World Cup then Cocu developed him in that position.

If DA has passed comment on him as a left back from his left wing days then the comment is completely irrelevant it's like commenting on Gareth Bale as a full back.

What is your source for Dick saying those things? I find it hard to believe that dick would tell the press 'Yeah we don't want this player cos he defensively shakey.' I dunno doesn't sound like something they say!

Btw I also believe you where never interested. You're desperate for a attacking midfielder, signing a box to box for 15m wouldn't add up.

I believe Funky has simply embellished a comment Dick made after a game a while back where he felt the combo of Gini and another left them a little exposed. A lot of water has since passed under the bridge and the player has come on leaps and bounds changing his position slightly. Van Gaal and Cocu have changed his game. I'm sure Dick would have loved to have signed him. Probably a bit out of their price bracket to be fair. Not a priority for them either. You only have to look at the types they are being linked with and signing. Coates, Lombaart. Defenders needed and needed at value prices. 14.5m on a top class international midfielder? Not really an option.

They could maybe step a bracket down and look at someone like Clasie who is reported to be available for 8-10m. Good player too, probably not as well equipped as Gini for the PL, or as good, but a very impressive playmaker nonetheless. Roma and Southampton are interested though supposedly. I think Koeman has moreorless said if Man U sign Morgan S, then Clasie will be the target.

Sunderland wont sign sh!t, to say they didnt want him is class, Top player in the dutch league last year, captain of the champions and a bucket load of goals, Its like if we signed messi (hypothetically Speaking) and mackems saying, well we didnt want him, his too short and doesnt fit in with our style of play!
