Yesterdays game highlighted for me why first and foremost why when signing players the spirit and character of the players should be high on the list of reqiurments needed to form a team capable of surviving the unforgiving and testing premier league. They have gone down the route of signing players who move around and by the looks of it dont give a hoot for the fans or the club ,many of whom I suggest have questionable temperament's .I suspect the fans were excited when players like Cisse,Wright Phillips,Zamora and a few others to mention only to realise they dont end up earning the big bucks they are given every week.I mean for the likes of Granero from Madrid and Cesar from Milan QPR represents easy street and partial retirement.
Throw in the fact they sacked the manger who promoted them and went for a 'name'the people who run the show can only blame themselves.Compere this to Norwich and the steady progress they have made with the likes of Ruddy,Pilkington,Hoolihan ,Snodgrass,Holt ,Johnson ,Bennett,Howson etc players we all know well from our lower league battles it proves that hungry players with good attitude can take you forward.I suggest we will and should follow a similar path and our signing the likes of Clyne ,J Rod along with the promotion of young players from within indicates we are heading in the right direction. No Carlos Kickaballs please apart from Gaston of course and lets carry on the 'Southampton way'.

They've made some very good signings but also some very poor ones, combine all of them together into a team of strangers under a manager who can't wrangle them together and you've got a mess on your hands. A shame for them, great for us, but they still have a lot of time to bring it together... Hope they don't though!

You are spot on CSH, and whilst QPR can bring in yet more players, they can't get any of the stuff you can't buy in January. Hughes will have to go if they want to turn it around but I don't know if a new man will be able to do any better. I feel sorry for QPR fans because they have to watch their season unravel in slow motion, and while we could see the positives in some of our defeats, they have absolutely none. If anyone was still unsure about Nigel then yesterday should have put a stop to that.

    Also twittering chairmen, no thanks.
