That ws scary and I could see a fairly big gulf in class. The speed at which they moved the ball and the slightest mistakes are punished heavily in this league. Tarrabt look quiet abd was shut out of the game.Taarabts too good for you!...is he???. We need some serious quality in very quickly, espcially at the back and full backs. Apart form Boothryd(who looked good) we looked slow and lacking quality. Orr,Hill,Derry,etc..work hard, but if we keep those players we are in big trouble. Feel so flat now. Get the checkbook out boys!

Even last season I thought we vulnerable to quick teams on the break.....like Watford and even Coventry caused us problems. This season teams will be quicker and better and harder to keep out. Faurlin and Derry are class players but have no speed when we're turned.....which will happen a lot and means our defence has to BETTER than last year which it purely isn't. If we'd have got the first goal when we were on top would we have still lost? Hard to tell. Bolton's first goal totally deflated us. Everton away will be an interesting game. 11 men behind the ball maybe to try and nick points away from home.

I was always worried about the lack of new faces in defence and defensive midfield but, today, we didn't create that much up front, although Bothroyd did look good. Despite that concern, I thought we might have edged the first half and were a bit unlucky to go in a goal down. However, we then got taught several lessons: giving the opposition too much space, speed of moving the ball and clinical finishing. Bolton looked good and, towards the end, every time they attacked, I thought they could score. Thank God we weren't playing Man United. Oh and now we've lost our only left back (I discount Borrowdale... I pray that NW does as well).

It could be a long season.
