As Reveillier is largely wasted at leftback but is still a talent when on at rightback is there no leftback in the younger squads who could do a job-surely there is plenty of experience in the team to advise and cover-they have to try and do that for PVA in any case.Van man should play further up to help us attacking as left side midfielder/winger. He's a real bright spark. The difference someone with drive makes is major and for that reason a place has to be found for Duncan Watmore. The team needs balance and pace to have a strike threat. Our style comes from Gus.I talk to lots of supporters and Gus seems well enough liked but considered lacking.Wasn't at Hull this time but his changes altered the balance--great--b,liut will he learn for next time Why do our managers like Keane at the end,Bruce Oneil seem to be unable to grasp what many supporters can see. They sleepwalk towards the sack as if they have no influence over what is going on on thr pitch.it's hard to bear. Believe I'm just repeating the obvious that's already been written here many times, but it is so frustrating.Think we will stay up-so my thoughts are on next season-will GP muddle on with his philosophy of trying to play some sort of football without the right type of players for it or will the club really get its stall set out properly for the future. It's all about next year.We made the great escape last year and have wasted the opportunity it gave us.Don't want more of the same or eventually we'll come unstuck when there aren't 3 p.poor teams to finish above. How long does it really take a good manager to get a team going-just think back to Cloughy. Play Keeper Fenchy OShea Brown Leftback Larsson Rodwell (Bridcutt) Van Man whickham Defoe with help from Alvares for Bridcutt depending on how it goes until Catts comes back. K.T.F. xTMs Sloman
Even I'm drunk on here most the time but make more sense then you pal. Where the Fark are ya baz? Rip in!
I know we regularly have players sent off but personally i would at least start with 11 rather than the 10 you seem to be going with!!! Also i would have PVA as an overlapping full back which is what he was brought in to do.
always underlap the overlap in midweek games as its half day closing in some places. **** me we don't need another pancake on here.
No idea why the lad is being given grief. He's suggesting we play our, extremely attack minded and defensively suspect left back, further up. He's suggesting we give a youngster a go at left back, can't exactly hurt and would be good to see youth being given a chance. I'm not necessarily saying I agree with him or his ideas should be taken as gospel but why he's being called an idiot and a ****wit I have no idea. And we get posts wondering why people don't contribute more often.
With Disco, The lads point is that PVA would make a decent left winger, and he's absolutely bang on, he would. What happened to young Robson the LB? I thought he was seen as close to the first team squad? On the subject of young lads getting close, what happened to Honeyman? Pre-season he did great and we won't find another Jordan if Mowgli won't play the ****ers. Young Lawson got a glowing report last night, on loan at Gateshead, apparently had a blinder.
Agree about the OP although Gus' system doesn't really allow for a left winger and I can't see him changing it any time soon. As far as youngsters, I'd also like to know what happened to Honeyman, and Watmore for that matter... He was a named sub against United so I figured he must be getting close, then with the whole AJ scenario I assumed he'd at least get a little gametime against Hull - then the ****er wasn't even on the bench! Baffling.
Bale was left back and even Saggy chops could see he was a talant going forward but suspect defensively. I agree with he OP myself, start playing him further up. Fact is we've played without any natrual width for far two long, Watmore and PVA on the flanks would cause ****ing chaos imo. We'd be unrecognisable from the dross we've seen. But it ain't going to happen, Gus has an unrealistic delusional stance on the pace of the game in this country. He wants it slower, nobody we play is listening to him.
Dear Marcus I will excuse your offensive comment as you were probably badly brought up. Gareth Bale was a fullback-can u remember the night Carlos Edwards tore him to shreds at SOL.He doesn't play fullback now does he? Or on second thoughts if I am to descend to your level-who the f do you think you are?I have watched yoy appear on the scene like some sparkling meteor-insinuating yourself in to appear indispensible, and then trying to take over.F off -you disgrace Dear Riever Learn to count
i can count mate, in fact i am quite good at it! in the team you have in your first post you have got Bridcutt in brackets after Rodwell. Most people would read that as either/or between Rodwell and Bridcutt but not both. Rhat leaves I can count mate. On your original post you have Bridcutt in brackets after Rodwell. That normally means either/or but not both. Given rhis you only have 10 positions filled.
Van Aanholt will have to play in midfield against Villa, and we need to go 3-4-3. Defoe, Wickham and Fletcher up front with Aanholt pushing at the villa defenders and getting crosses in. Close them down fast, get the ball back and start again if we lose the ball, or play like Chelsea ! Johnson on the right (if he is back etc)
I was referring to your double post mate! The line up confused me a little, I won't lie, depends if you count Bridcunt in brackets. To be fair I posted a team a month or so ago and it had 12 players in so I won't give the lad grief for that.
We need to be vigilant against Villa, they have pace coming forward and this is one thing that worries me.Agbo and Bente will give our two CD's a real test and they will need to be helped out from time to time. I would like to see a sweeper or a man marker put on Agbo if he plays, cause he always tears us one.
