âItâs a bit of a price of our philosophy [that we are open at the back] but I feel we are too nervous,â he said. â[Thatâs] down to the fact that recently we conceded goals in big games at home." âWe looked a bit nervous defensively and the recent history of the team certainly plays a big impact in the heads of the players. We have to get rid of that, because apart from that, thereâs a lot of positives in the games.â And why is it that they recently conceded goals in big games at home? Maybe he should try some defensive coaching? What gives players confidence? In my experience, it's knowing that they're good at their job. Feeling confident about the team they're playing in. Don't even get me started on the price of his philosophy...from the looks of it, his philosophy is the cheapest around.
Bullshit, Barca play the best football on earth, with a great attacking philosophy, yet they also know how to defend.
Their defending consists of having the ball 90% of the game. Other teams can't score when they don't have the ball.
yepp .. all Barca players close down opponents & defend as unit .. Saints did the same against us and even with less quality than Barca they dominated us at 2nd half.. to do that you just need a bit of organisation and set of players who accept they should close down and go back defending when losing the ball
Even when they don't have the ball, they're good at defending, they always press the other team when they don't have the ball, you can see a real hunger and desire to get the ball back so they can continue their game.
