The BBC has done a survey on the cost of a day out at a game ... apparently the cheapest that you can watch us for is £42.80 (including a cuppa, a pie and a prog). We are getting a lot of stick for this, but they have done the same comparison for Swansea and it's only 20p less. They don't appear to be getting much aggro over this though! Here is the link http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14367608.stm If you can't be bothered to read it, Liverpool are the most expensive if you want all of the things mentioned above.
And apparently, Blackburn is cheapest at around £17 plus change. But it is Blackburn.... Interesting listening to all this on fiveLive this morning on the way to work. You'd have thought we would get some credit at least, for tying up the Pie contract before worrying about trivial matters such as a shirt sponsor.....
TBH its not the best pie either is it? It can hardly compare with the magnificent fare offered at Barnsley, best pie in the Football leagues
WLW it just means getting to matches a little earlier and sniffing out a decent caff beforehand mate. Aside from the pie there is very little else I could reccomend about Barnsley.
memo to flavio we dont need a sponsor flavio but can you imagine the trouble we will be in if we dont give those ungrateful bastards something to eat love bernie
And Swansea are only cheaper because they have under-cut us on the tea by 30p! Tickets and Programme are the same, and their pies are actually more expensive (possibly because every lamb and mint pie could be somebody's girlfriend....)
@Smudge1962 Paul Smith Good to see QPR third in the Premier League table for ripping fans off for a day out in a BBC survey. Only Arsenal and Liverpool are worse. 21 minutes ago via web
