Because he's waiting for either Norwich or Shammers to lose their manager. He was promoted with both teams as a senior player and may fancy returning as manager.
So Tan has given permission for chairman Mehmet Dalman to open talks with the man identified to replace Mackay. The target is a "household name currently working for a British club".
This turmoil can only be good for us and our chances next week. Hopefully Mackay will put out a severely weakened team just to spite Tan

He will be gone by the time we play them - which I think is good for us.
Probably from the Championship. McClaren maybe? Although he's only just joined Derby so I doubt it.
And the hostility will be added to from our end because of the presence of Harry Redknapp in the opposing dugout.
