It's the Merseyside derby next for Liverpool so we could go top with a win at the Emirates. :D

Just to be certain about this, if we won next week say 2-0 then we'd be equal on points and goal difference. Doesn't it then go to goals scored, which would leave us in second place?

I may be missing something. I normally am.

Vin

If we won 2-0 Arsenal's GD would go to +10, ours to +12.

I'd be delighted with a draw at the Emirates, even a narrow loss I wouldn't be too downhearted. A win would be amazing, but it will be a real challenge and I think we need to be realistic going into it...Yes we are playing fantastic football and have a good chance of coming away with something, but it's still Arsenal at the Emirates, they are top of the table and deservedly so. I'm expecting Saints to put in a good performance, but lose. Anything more then that and we've done incredibly well indeed.

Christ lads, let's not get too excited! I'd take a draw if offered it right now, I think Flamini missing the game will be a loss for Arsenal though, he has been excellent at keeping things tight for them.

Our next 9 fixtures really are frightening. In the space of 5 weeks we face Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Spurs, Everton and then Chelsea once again, with Villa coming to St. Mary's and trips to Cardiff and Newcastle in between. If we could squeeze out 15 points in those 9 games I'd be delighted.

We shouldn't be frightened of anyone right now.

We're awesome against the big sides, nothing to worry about. <laugh>

Heh, I'd be okay with 10 points from those 9. Fifteen would mean that we'd be more than halfway through the year and on pace for 70, which is insanity.

If you told me on the coach leaving the Emirates last season after the 6-1 hiding that we would back in just over a year with a chance to go top of the league I would of asked for your dealers phone number.
I'm glad we are all enjoying it today :-) If we can't be a little cocky and enjoy it now then when can you

That is a really hideous fixture list. All of those games are must win for the big sides now, due to their recent slip ups. We won't take them by surprise again either. 10 points from hit next 9 would be a good return tbh.

Exactly.

Gaw blimey I love them Saints.

Don't see why we should drop many points against that lot. None of the top teams can cope with the press as they try to play it out from the back. We'll take some surprising (at least to outsiders) scalps in that set of games.

Vin

It's not so much that I'm worried about playing any of those teams in isolation, but just the prospect of facing them week after week in a gruelling Christmas period including midweek games is daunting. We can take on any of them on our day but periods like that can really grind you down.
