I am guessing this was a hard graft of a win than an outstanding sublime performance. How often do teams well placed in the table find a team at the bottom difficult to beat? Still well done to PFC on another good win. Now that we have caught the 6th placed team, we need to keep picking up the points to maintain a challenge to be in the play-offs at the end of the season. I think neither Jackett nor Eisner would settle for anything less, nor should the fans. Who knows in less than 12 months time the club could be playing ???????? one of the Solent teams!!!

Good solid performance today against a poor team who only came for a draw. Danny Rose hit a superb 40 yard shot in the first half which their keeper superbly tipped over the bar. Ben Close replaced Stuart O'Keefe at half time, and played well, as did Brandon Haunstrup at left back (he was my man of the match).

Lovely headed goal from Matt Clarke, from a free kick by Gareth Evans.

Nice win, a clean sheet, and three more points which brings us level on points and goal difference with Charlton Athletic - almost into the play-off positions.

Good also to see both Toddy Todorov and Sol Campbell come onto the pitch at half time. Both club legends !

Is there a different mentality surrounding the club now, Woopert's? For decades, the club was seeped in failure, but I sense that Eisner will not tolerate this, while Jackett certainly won't. That is why I think the target is securing a play-off place. And the fans should be demanding that as well. Anything less will be a failure.

Kenny Jackett has made the difference this season to my mind, Ides. We are better organised and prepared for games.

Wonder if that numpty John Ellerton or whatever his name is is starting to come around yet, seeing as we've won something like 5 of the last 6 games (admittedly 2 in the checkashite trophy)

Not the best watch but the result is everything - they were time wasting right up until they conceded the goal and came for a point. Was a little disappointed with people cheering Bennett's substitution - it was the right move but didn't need that - the guy always tries very hard - all we ask really. Thought all the team contributed to the clean sheet and yes we should now be definitely targetting a top 8 finish. If we nip into the play-offs no bad thing. Haunstrup getting better with every game - Clarke excellent - nervy about the Jan window.

He will probably avoid the Portsmouth News site until we lose a game - hopefully not until sometime in the New Year.

The bloke is a prize prat !!

Top 6 Eastney. Jackett will feel to have failed otherwise. From a club perspective, a chance to experience the play-offs again is a wonderful for both players and club as it gradually makes them battled hardened in the key games at the top end of League 1, or in the battle to stay in the Championship and then build momentum to take to club towards the Championship summit.

Good news that young Ben Close has signed a 2 year extension to his contract, taking it up to Summer 2020.

We need to do the same with Matt Clarke urgently, before the transfer window opens !

Agree - really rate the lad - he is a great cross between Richard Hughes & dare I say it Iniesta in style of play - keeps us ticking nicely and retains possession well. A good move by PFC
