...that the club have confirmed they are in talks regarding investment. Yes, there has been incredible speculation going on about Arabs, Yanks and Cannucks buying us, but at least we know one thing - someone wants to plough money into Leeds and after all the silence after we signed Pearce at least now we know why no further transfers have materialised. The rumour mill has thrown up some really interesting ideas as to who may be looking to buy Leeds, but the one key point is that Bates is talking to a genuine investor, something he has never publicly stated before. So at least we have a factual positive going on, and we can but pray that Bates gets this right and the money comes in, be it someone buying a stake in the club or taking Bates out completely. I have a feeling it is the former, will take a very wealthy investor to buy Bates out. Main thing is that Warnock is given a tidy fighting fund and off we go. Then at least the transfer rumours will have a bit more of an edge to them. MOT!!
I really do think something positive will come out of all this for Leeds United and we will see a new Leeds United FC, with a forward thinking owner who will put the cash into the team as it is required. However, we all know what Bates is capable of and for that reason, until it is official and Bates has gone, I will keep all my excitement low and expect the usual story of failure to come from Elland Road within the next few days, weeks etc.
