I thought every time the Tory bloke wanted to speak Dimbleby moved on. Also on too many occasions he cut him off mid-answer. The bloke even said "let me answer the question".
Latest news from SKY is that Merkel and Hollande had a 30minute phone call re Brexit. Hollande wants a quicky divorce but she wants a slow one. (this is all due to upcoming elections). Further to this, a leaked memo from Germany says they want to offer Britain an 'associate membership' and the German CBI doesn't want to tax us on trade. Now this could all be crap but it's something i thought would happen as it makes financial sense. The Germans aren't stupid with money except when it comes to Greece.
A bit like QPR, pay as you go, membership or season ticket? I'll stick to pay as you go thanks...
The Europeans seem light years ahead of us in their thinking, in that they are actually doing some. Merkel has to persuade 26 other countries to agree with her, including Eastern European countries which have a massive interest in freedom of movement. Contrary to popular belief the EU is not a German empire. But I hope they dominate the EU strategy on Brexit.
Apparently a Vote Leave Tory MP close to Gove and Johnson, was asked by a sky news reporter what the Brexit plan was. The answer - we (Vote Leave) don't have one, No. 10 should have one - .
Sb i agree about the European outlook on thinking but disagree on the what you say about Merkel's influence. The Germans run the show. The Eastern block countries have Russia on their doorsteps and will fall in line.

Boris Johnson next to massively back peddle now, saying only thing will change is laws linked into eu and very heavily hinting at leaving free movement in place for access to single market. How many were duped into voting based on immigration claims?

The leave campaigners have no authority to make anything happen until they are in government.

I think the plan is about how to deal with the fallout out of the vote on the economy Col, though I agree it was the most effective statement yet along with Carney, and Osborne clearly isn't in a position to offer anything on the terms of Brexit. Interesting that he says he is going to hang around though.
But we do at last have a hint of what the Vote Leave leadership wants, as Boris comes out in favour of staying in the single market and trying to get some concessions on immigration, but that doesn't seem to be his top priority as he doesn't think that was the main reason people voted out, whereas a slow process of disentangling ourselves from EU legislation is. Fair enough, it's the kind of thing I've been asking for in terms of direction, no point in me being cynical now, and I entirely accept that they are not the government (though they are in government) and can't actually do anything yet. Grayling on the wireless now saying he wants a free trade agreement with the EU which allows us to control EU migration, which is important according to him. I do think the senior Tories at the top of Vote Leave (let's try and make the other groups, particularly Farage's mob, irrelevant if possible) should get together and thrash out a shared position, if they have one.
Cameron expected to be on his feet in the Commons for hours this afternoon. I hope he moves early and puts Gove in charge of Brexit planning, even as an interim measure until a new leader is in place.

2 things that have interested me this morning is first the way the Euro is having a mare compared to us. Spain 12% down and both Italy and France down. That tells me that they may need us more than they are making out.
The second thing is the amount of World financial people saying that the EU management and set up is flawed. they went on to say that Southern European countries are being supported by the Northern ones and now we are out it means they will need to come up with £13B a year.
