I didn't understand really what the fuss was about until I read the SNP ammendment.
As well as calling for a ceasefire, Stephen Flynn’s group has tabled the motion calling for the “immediate release of all hostages taken by Hamas and an end to the collective punishment of the Palestinian people”.
It was the last 6 words that were the dealbreaker.
Although I personally agree with the sentiments of the amendment, I can see how none of the major parties would have voted for it.
Likewise the tory proposal was for a humantarian pause.
I think the speaker was being pragmatic..
But it all went T*ts up.
The stupid thing is no one cares. We can say anything we like but Israel, Hammas and associated bodies do not care an inch
So the Speaker of the HC does a murky, underhand deal with his old party to save Starmer of the embarrassment of his Muslim and Hard Left MP's voting against his qualified call for a ceasfire in Gaza.
Let's hope the ref in our match on Saturday isn't similarlly in the pocket of Rotherham.

And people think things will be different with Labour and Starmer.![]()
What on Saturday...not sure Starmer is a registered referee, but even then he would be better than Stroud. And people think things will be different with Labour and Starmer.![]()
The speaker wasn't being "pragmatic" Beth, he was being biased, hence his apology.
Worst generation of politicians by a mile.
And people think things will be different with Labour and Starmer.![]()
Things will inevitably be better under Starmer, if only because they couldn't possibly be worse.
How do you think Kemi's doing?
Not inevitable at all.
The PO row will make or break Kemi.
I don't trust any politicians, but I also certainly don't trust that ex head of the PO.
Think it all started when people voted Boris johnson in as PM. The country has never been the same since. Looking forwards to the Tories self destructing. Ruined this once great country.Let's not mention this to Bob![]()
