People are facing lengthy jail sentences for the ‘crime’ of trying to save them too.
It’s an interesting debate……why do we in the West value one persons life more worthy of reporting their demise, than another persons life ? My thought has always been that because one person “looks like us” or we can somehow relate to them, then in our minds they are more important

Absolutely……Always felt sorry for the parents of Ben Needham as that hardly got reported. Of course it can work the other way….look at t(e murders of Stephen Lawrence and Richard Everitt, both similar in nature but both reported still in a completely different manner.

There is a very large contingent of people who laugh gleefully when one of Elon Musk's rockets explode on takeoff or a submersible with wealthy adventurers is lost to the sea. These are people whose envy and dissatisfaction with their own mediocre, unimpressive lives have driven them to despise anyone who does anything different, bold, or daring. They take pleasure in failure because they will never have any successes of their own to celebrate. I guess pathetic assholes of this type have always existed. But it worries me that they are so numerous in our culture, and that over time they are only becoming more and more cartoonishly sadistic.
He misses the point that these people, like myself, are not laughing “gleefully”, but just pointing out the whole disparity of the whole situation.
Anyhow, I think I’ve had a major success in my life to survive this long.

Scientists in Denmark used AI machine learning techniques to predict political ideology based on facial characteristics.
The results:
Attractive women are more likely to be “right-wing.” Meanwhile, women who showed contempt are more likely “left-wing.”
“For females (though not males), high attractiveness scores were found among those the model identified as likely to be conservative,” the Nature-owned journal Scientific Reports findings explained.
“These results are credible given that previous research using human raters has also highlighted a link between attractiveness and conservatism.”
As Chaya Raichik, creator of Libs of TikTok tweeted, “The science is settled.”

A liberal woman is never happy.
Challenging it is to enjoy your day when you are fening outrage online about supposed injustices. Or scouring IG to see how many shares your friends have. Or pretending to care about so-called marginalized groups to appease your white guilt.
The life of liberal women is exhausting. It takes a toll on their beauty, their dedication to fitness, and their success.
Sure, the same can be said about liberal men. But the attractiveness of left-wing males is less of a debate:

On the day that the damning JP Morgan Report has dropped, a spokesperson for Keir Starmer has said that Peter Mandelson still advises the Labour leader and that he has “no reason to believe he isn’t” a fit and proper person, despite reports about his close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. Clearly the spokesperson has taken spin lessons from Mandelson himself…

China has demanded Britain hand over the Falkland Islands to Argentina and called on countries to abandon 'colonial thinking' – all while Beijing continues to threaten Taiwan with an invasion.
The Chinese ambassador to the United Nations Geng Shuang accused the UK of playing 'power politics' by keeping The Falklands, known as the Malvinas in Argentina, under British rule.
The Falklands were the subject of a short but brutal war after Argentina invaded in 1982. Britain drove out the invaders after dispatching a naval armada, but the issue has never been considered settled in Buenos Aires.
'The issue of the Malvinas Islands is a historical legacy of colonialism,' Mr Shuang said, according to South China Morning Post. 'Although the colonial era has passed, hegemonism and power politics that are in line with colonial thinking still exist today.'
Failing to mention that China has threatened to annex Taiwan by force if the island's government does not to submit to Beijing's demands, Mr Shuang said colonial thinking has a 'serious impact' on international relations.
He added that it also 'seriously damages' the sovereignty, security and development interests of the countries involved. 'The international community must remain highly vigilant and resolutely resist this', he said.

In March, Argentina furiously accused Britain of ignoring international law after it ripped up a co-operation pact with the UK and demanded new talks over the sovereignty of the South Atlantic archipelago.
But in response, Britain's Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said at the time 'the Falkland Islands are British'.
Argentina believes the Falklands were illegally taken from it in 1833 and invaded the British colony in 1982. The United Kingdom sent troops and Argentina lost the two-month war for the archipelago in a conflict that claimed the lives of 649 Argentines and 255 British soldiers.
Argentina still claims the islands while Britain says the Falklands are a self-governing entity under its protection. A 2013 referendum there resulted in a 99.8 per cent vote to remain British.
During the UN Committee meeting yesterday, Mr Shuang said China 'firmly supported' Argentina's claim over the islands and called for the UK to hand over the Falklands.
'We urge the UK... to avoid measures that may aggravate tension and confrontation, and at the same time actively respond to Argentina's request to resume dialogue and negotiations,' he said.
The speech parroted the same lines pushed out by Beijing that the US and Western nations are trying to maintain their dominance in the South China Sea when they push back against China's military presence there.

No one's saying there's no sympathy for the migrants killed in the boat tragedy, and it got plenty of airtime and plenty of condemnation of the people trafficking scumbags. But five people die in an imploding submarine, including a 19 year old, and the Left is in celebratory mood. Yet another example of its "Be Kind" approach.
It's the way of the world mate. No life is more valuable than any other but our media and media around the world make you believe that it is.
I don't think anyone is in a celebratory mood Goldy. It's certainly nothing to do with left or right but more right and wrong.
Both are desperately sad events, Bob. But the likes of Sarkar definitely get off on the accidental death of successful people. Here's the irony. Both incidents involved migrants taking high risk. The boat migrants took risk in relying on organised crime for their safety. The immigrant billionaire risked his life and his son's going down into some of the deepest parts of the ocean in some amateur contraption run by a bloke who rejected staff of older white men who had been in submarines all their lives in favour of youngsters who knew about the PlayStation controller used in the doomed submarine.
But the Left, or to be fair, the Hard Left, only have sympathy for the first category of migrant, because Hard Left resents migrants that are more successful than they are, even though these successful immigrants pay massive amounts of tax and provide jobs for large amounts of people. And that is why the anti-aspirational Hard Left will always be marginalised, even within a Labour government.
