The ****ing media and the narratives they put out are the reason some, like Staines said, are turning on the NHS. Seeing it more and more often on social media, people picking any small thing to have a dig. If there’s an image or video of them not working themselves to death it’s jumped upon, if a couple of nurses wanna raise their spirits by doing a little video, fair play if I was in an intense 14 hour shift, I might try and enjoy any short break I had.

I do worry if this is part of a plan to cause a backlash against the NHS workers, to paint them out as demons we can no longer afford to keep going. Although with Trump out of the way at least there isn’t the incentive to sneak some of it in, in a trade deal.
I'm sure there will be yet another uturn over NHS pay by Johnson as he needs his house redecorating. I mean this is the party whom overwhelmingly voted not to feed children free school meals during holidays only to be shamed into doing so. Let's hope they get shamed into another uturn.

The NHS in England could reportedly have to pay £4.3 billion in legal fees to settle outstanding claims of clinical negligence.

The figure includes existing unsettled claims and projected estimates of future claims, the BBC has reported after getting details through a Freedom of Information request.

The NHS receives more than 10,000 new claims for compensation every year and the Department of Health has said it will tackle “the unsustainable rise in the cost of clinical negligence”.

The total cost of outstanding compensation claims was £83 billion, according to estimates published last year.

NHS England’s total budget in 2018-19 was £129 billion.

Suzanne White, of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, said people often find it difficult to get answers from the medical authorities and are left with no other option but to sue.

“What they want to do is find out what went wrong, why they have received these injuries … and to make sure it doesn’t happen to other patients,” she said.

Dr Christine Tomkin, of the Medical Defence Union, which supports doctors at risk of litigation, said: “We are now awarding compensation in sums of money higher than almost anywhere in the world. What we need is a fundamental change to the legal system.”

Spot on Wills.......but I will add I fully expect Boris to make a spectacular u-turn, ride up on his white charger in full armour and give out the assumed 2% rise.......it’s the Tory way

I don’t really care much about Markle... she is no Kate. From what I have read and heard from friends, she comes across as a bit of a social climber. I would say to her, if you want a private life don’t do Oprah or announcing your baby on Twitter. It’s all about promoting team Markle.

Ellers has more friends than I’ve had ****s

Spot on Bob.....it’s almost as if that’s their cunning plan in the first place
