A deafening silence from the Tories on here about Sunak's crazy, irresponsible budget giveaway. Imagine the outcry if a Labour Chancellor had delivered such a Keynesian programme. Should we assume that everyone now agrees that everything the Tories have been telling us for the last ten years was bollocks?

I thought you'd be pleased with the spending spree.
Surely it's what you wanted after all the evil austerity?
You hate the Tories for not doing what you want. You hate the Tories for for doing what you want.

See a pattern?

Where did I say I disapproved of the budget? (the crazy, irresponsible bit was irony).

I'm just waiting for you and the rest of the Corbyn/McDonnell haters on here to admit that they were wrong to have supported unnecessary austerity and were wrong to describe Labour's borrow to invest proposals as being crazy Marxism.

Let's put it at it's simplest. Your Dad, Mr L. Abour, is stupid and a drunk. He spends money on mostly useless stuff without thought. When a storm comes and takes the roof of the house, you need to fix it, but your Dad's mate leaves you a note saying your Dad has spent all the money and not only is there nothing left but he's left you heavily in debt with huge interest payments.

So you draw in your belt, save money wherever possible and pay off huge amounts of debt. Meanwhile your Dad is pissed and shouting Spend, Spend Spend!. After 10 years, you've got the debt right down and your kids are saying they need money spent on their education and health. So you use the money for them prudently.

And your Dad screams, "See, I was right all along!"

Simplistic indeed.

Bullshit, too.

I don't agree that the budget was the equivalent of what Labour would have done.
Also, try reading what I've said about austerity. I have never been a wholesale supporter and have written many times on here that it went on for too long and cut too deep.

So you are pleased with the budget then?

****ing hell mate I hope that’s copied from somewhere. Takes some serious mental contortions to hammer Labour for their plans and back this.

Broadly, yes.

Probably why Labour’s manifesto was popular with economists. Sadly we had to hear the views of Billy Brexit from Brexitshire in the name of balance.

Which economists are those then? I didn't see that claim throughout the whole of the election campaign unless you mean a few tame economists with no reputation
