I agree, can see a GE coming soon. However, I would also bet on no overall majority, which will leave us as stuck as we are today!!
Yes, agreed. Pieces may be moved around and the chessboard look just the same at the end.

Yannis was ****ing great though.Last night's QT really plumbed the depths. The Tory and Labour reps, in the Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet respectively, both thought it was a huge joke and neither seemed able to appreciate the seriousness of their failure. The audience did not even clap anything they said for the first 20 minutes or so. Their contempt for the people of this country was matched only by the fully deserved contempt of the audience for the pair of them.

Soubry, Umunna etc have decided that calling themselves Tigs is too like Winnie the Pooh and thus flippant. So they're calling themselves Change UK and will forever answer to the name CUK. Yes, that's better
Absolutely true. The economics journalist and the Next CEO talked some sense too.Yannis was ****ing great though.

I see your man, Raab has covered himself in glory as a man of principle.
And since this morning's wimpy soundbite too. Whatever happened to DON'T PANIC BOYS, STAND FIRM?. Do you want to change your mind as well?
Over the identity of the next leader, I mean. The DUP must feel that they are being sold down the river.
The indicative votes on Monday will give a majority to Ken Clarke's Customs Union proposal. She will then be obliged to bring her deal back once more with a CU attached, and this will be passed. (I reckon)
"The choice now is between the risk of being held in the backstop by the EU for a period, without being able to control our exit, and on the other hand a significant risk of losing Brexit altogether. Neither are palatable. Both could have been avoided if the Government had shown the requisite resolve and will."
Dominic Raab when announcing his decision to be "the one backing down" after telling us all that the Government should have shown balls and given the EU an ultimatum. Apart from his obvious lack of them (assuming he was right first time) the statement above is an interesting shift towards the truth about the backstop. It was never more than a temporary breathing space which at worst would have lasted for a defined period of time, no more than a year or two and which could and would have been ended by agreement or the expiry of any period agreed. The purpose was two fold - smooth transition and an incentive to both sides, but especially the UK, to stop procrastinating and simply get on with striking the trade deal
This reveals to me at least that to add to the many cock ups by the government, winding up the DUP into believing that the backstop was something more ie, something evil has proved to be possibly the most disastrous cock up of all. It is all too clear why they have suddenly panicked en masse. They realise that even MPs as thick as the bunch we have at the moment can pull together over the next few days to work out what the best from of soft Brexit is. Operation Fear by Brexiteers is yet more cobblers. MPs will vote for Brexit but "not as you wanted it Jim".
And to think that for the last two and a half years they have insulted our intelligence and led their supporters to think that all that was needed was a bit of bulldog British (English?) stubbornness and it would all be fine. Hopefully that will have done wonders for all their leadership aspirations. Gove looks more of a shoe in every day. Hopefully the witch of Downing Street will now resign instead of trying to bulldoze her deal though again for a 4th time.
Of course I could be wrong and the House of Commons could yet cock everything up and hand it back to the Brexiteers on a plate but it does look unlikely now.
Thus removing a main reason for voting leave, ie being able to forge free trade deals with the rest of the world.
The ruling elite are reaching their end game .
