He's worried he'll look like a Project Fear numpty like Cameron and Osborne, when no deal happens, the UK and EU take all reasonable steps to ease the transition to WTO and life goes on largely unchanged

Did you hear about the French attempt on a 'no deal' scenario at Calais? They had 25K tailbacks and P'd off many drivers... It pans out that they deliberately slowed everything down to get more money and staff from the government. <doh> (typical French). The reporter said if there is a no deal they, and many others, may play on it... anything for a strike in France.

Up to them. If UK business moves to Belgium or Holland, it may not come back

Taylor Swift says she is so worried about her safety that she carries military-grade bandages at all times.
"You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things," the pop star wrote in an Elle Magazine column.
Last year, the star won a restraining order against a man who tried to enter her home armed with a knife.
Another man was arrested last February for attacking her front door with a shovel.
Last month, he was sentenced to six months in jail for a separate incident, in which he broke into her New York apartment and took a shower before falling asleep.
And a third man was issued with a restraining order last September for sending letters in which he threatened to rape and kill the singer.
In light of those incidents, the star wrote: "I carry QuikClot army grade bandage dressing, which is for gunshot or stab wounds."

We have Football and cricket and rugby as our national sports, the French have strikes, rioting and not having a shower as theirs, but don’t tell our esteemed know it all, it might ruin his Camembert and baguette with a bottle of rustic wine supper as he sits in his chateau !!!

Blimey, some on here dont half give our European neighbours some grief. It's totally unnecessary, quite sad and a poor attitude to be honest. Like our own country doesnt have enough problems, let's quickly defer our criticism to another. Quite pathetic

Hence my often passionate replies to posts
Ellers is a unique disgrace imo as he cherry pics news just to discredit Europeans ... surely most can see that
Yes I do discredit my own country as I have grown very despondent in my lifetime
How anyone can support our politics and it’s behaviour over Brexit is beyond me but everyone has an opinion so no real biggy
How people can still continue to live in the past and hold these viewpoints is baffling ... it must come from the same place of frustration I have felt and acted upon.

If the focus of energy towards our neighbours could be switched to even suggesting a post Brexit plan that would be a start. Ellers is too self obsessed with blaming any countries failings to realise the problems are at home imo

Spotlight on knives currently:
I can go and buy a weapon in France anytime and people openly carry them in my area . Compare the crime figures it’s zero here against what seems a problem out of control . The root difference is culture without doubt. As a few French mates have said to me today in discussion at the lazy sod cafe during our 3 hour lunch break ... stop and search in the U.K. will do what ? ... if a knife is taken away then that person would more than likely get another one? . It’s very difficult at times here to try and explain the logic of U.K. culture I can tell you.

My French friends don’t necessarily like the police here but that is out of respect ... you do not **** about with a French Cop even the basic ones

I say again the U.K. is lost

The ones we use are impregnated with shellfish and stink to high heaven.
On the subject of knives and stabbings I’ve just volunteered through work to go into schools and teach the kids about the perils of carrying a knife and what happens when you get stabbed etc. Meant to be sometimes gruesome but if that’s what it takes to maybe get the message across then so be it. Dunno if I’ll get it ‘cos they’ve had a lot of volunteers but worth a try. Amazing to see how many staff are willing to use their own time, unpaid, to spread this important message......hats off to them all.
