Surely no manager that is completely sane will take this job on...and surely no chairman that is completely sane will empoy this man as manager again.
For once there's a club that is a bigger laughing stock than us.

Three managers in less than a season surely has to be a record for a club, and being sacked three times in less than season also has to be a record.
What money on them to be relegated now??

Ok, he wasn't sacked by Blackpool, but given a few more games and he would've been.
Awful record, and in my opinion one of the worst ever managers!

...And the Blackburn pantomime, farce, call it what you will continues!

The owners have just announced that they have sacked Michael Appleton after just 15 games in charge! Don't get me wrong I don't like the bloke but this is simply an outrage and surely the Football authorities must be looking at this and thinking are these owners truly fit to be running a football club?

What an absolute joke and disgrace this football club has become ever since those Numpty's from Venkys took over. This is their 3rd Managerial change since the start of this season! You just have to laugh but I do feel a tad sorry for the loyal Blackburn fans who are living through this nightmare. This just goes to show that foreign millions aren't always the key to success! On a side note I also understand that DJ has been sent back to QPR so maybe there could be a small chance of bringing him back here? (I always live in hope). Thank god we have an owner who is not that trigger happy because at least Marcus Evans had every justification in sacking Jewell when he did!

In 9 games since he left us he hasn't scored one goal....will we be allowed to get him on an emergency? (the emergency being that we can't fecking score)

Rumours were that after Kean left, they went for Mick but he turned it down. I think that is one of the things ME can be praised for, he may make the wrong appointments and wrong decisions sometimes but he always backs his managers and lets them get on with it, which is why I think Mick came to us.

In terms of Appleton Stretchy, I'm not sure what to make of him tbh, he's never really been at a club long enough to be able to judge his managerial credentials abit like Saunders IMO, it's just hard to tell. Also he's been a some very poorly managed clubs, which can't of helped!!

Appleton is a very hard one to judge. He hasn't managed any 'normal' teams, or not for long enough anyway. He was always in for a hiding when he took the Pompey job and by all accounts acquitted himself well and with dignity which is why Blackpool appointed him, only for him to turn his back on them and move up the road and ultimately fail at probably the most ridiculous job in the football league currently.

Maybe Venky's saw the effect that Billy Davies is having at Forest (another car crash club) and will re appoint Steve Kean <whistle> I reckon they'll give it back to Mark Hughes myself

Yes, It's disaster for Appleton, manage for 2 months & then get paid up the remainder of your contract. Must be hard.
on a more serious note, any manager who goes in to Blackburn (or Chelsea for that matter) knows exactly what the club is like so IMO any manager who takes the job at these clubs is doing what's best for their bank balance rather than their careers

Surely to christ if you resign you don't get paid off for the rest of your contract!! Only if you're sacked. Like accepting a transfer offer for a player or accepting a transfer request means only paying his wages until he legally leaves, rather than paying them off like we've stupidly been doing to reduce the headline monthly salary costs, rather than offering them out for one pound fifty.

If another club approaches a club for a manager, the compensation is de facto no different if they were approaching a player for a tfr fee, isn't it? The selling club doesn't need to pay up the contract - if that were the case players and managers would be constantly angling for moves every two weeks.

There are plenty of examples nowadays of people getting sacked and getting a huge pay-off for failure! You only have to look at the Bankers and senior managers in the NHS and local government where failure is rewarded with a huge pay off. I've read this week that some senior managers were sacked from the NHS with a huge pay off only to be reinstated after 6 months! Nice work if you can get it but one thing is for sure the majority of us would get nothing if we were sacked from our jobs albeit a P45!

It makes my blood boil that this culture has been allowed to develop where people are rewarded for failing without any consequences only for the poor TAX payer or shareholder who has to foot the bill.
