IMO are they are never in a million years going to get us the goals we have lost with the sale of Benty a 20goal a season man. In a team like ours who heavily reli on the strikers for the goals signing the likes of Bothroyd and Doyle would put some serious pressure on Gyan to get the goals, as we all know our midfielders rarely contribute (Cattermole 0goals in 2season's, Malbranque 1prem goal in 3season, Colback 0goals, Meyler 0goals, Elmohamady 0goals, Henderson 4 or 5 in 2season's, Sessegnon 3 in 11-12games) Over the last few years we have been blessed with some very good strikers Jones, Cisse, Benty and now Gyan, we need another 10-15+ a season man maybe two of them not 5 or 6goals a season men. Goals win games at the end of the day and we have been one of the worst teams for scoring goals over the last couple of season and thats with a 20goal a season man. We need to be looking at the Pavyluchenko's, Defoe's, Ba's, Sturridge's etc. IMO For me Pav's the man, he could be a legend up here, the fella has everything in his locker, he can score all types of goals and is a big bloke, best striker at Spurs IMO
We need to be looking at the Pavyluchenko's, Defoe's, Ba's, Sturridge's etc. IMO[/QUOTE] Agree mate Gyan, Defoe / Sturridge, Doyle & Bothroyd would be my choices & Frazier when he comes back
Just need to mention Ricco in there he got 4 for us this season and a few assists but overall i share your concern if we ended up with these guys as they would just simply fill in the squad more than contribute towards it. I still have faith in Brucey and its obvious he is, quote "exploring every alternative" so we will get linked with most bosmans etc because of his quotes but i would be suprsied if we ended up with these 2 come the start of next season, it just does not show any ambition. I still wouldnt mind a bid for Welbeck.
Still don't get why people can think Gyan will get 20 in a season, Maybe he can help someone else get that figure, but he will never reach that target.
With Gyan who knows, when he arrived he'd just come off the back off a long a gruelling world cup, had ni pre season signed for a new team in a new country, only started half of the matches ended the season with ten league goals. I think if he has a nice holiday, gets a proper pre season under his belt, doesn't get his head messed with by 'Arry Redknapp starts 30+ games he's capable of knocking in 20 goals.
Gyan could score 20goals IMO with a proper pre-season and 30+ games Need to find him a partner though and someone in to provide the chances from midfield Pav and Gyan IMO would be top class
no probs mate we'll agree to disagree on this one, but for the next two seasons there is ACN so no way is he going to get anywhere near that figure
I don't understand the fascination that some have with Pavlychenko. I don't rate the bloke at all and think he'd be a disaster in the north east. Very few Russians have settled at all in English football.
