Sunderland AFC News And Banter Page: ‎"I haven't read anything official ... where Danny has said he wants to leave, that means he must want to stayâ - Michael Laudrup, Swansea City manager.
I've got a feeling that Nufc think they'll do the dirty on us here. They have played down interest and may think we've put all our eggs in one basket then come in at the 11th hour with an offer.
I think so aswel marra, somebody is hoying money on it http://www.oddschecker.com/football...january-transfer-window?mobile_redirect=false
I can't see it they will only buy players who can offer a decent sell on price, if we assume Swansea will want 4-5 million for him his value as a "sell on " is zero
I would rather we put in a decent bid for another player now such as Charlie Austin. 36 goals in 69 games (23 in 27 games this season alone) in the championship and at 6ft 2 and 22.5 years old and a professional career total of 77 in 142 games, he fits the bill for me. It would be a great step up for him and maybe a step upto even greater things if he came here and did well. There is every incentive for him ot work hard and impress. Big strong lad and I'd be happy to pay £7m or £8m for him. Once upon a time, this sort of lad would have been snapped up by one of the big clubs of the day but as he is a young Englishman its no longer fashionable to get them. Ian Rush didint have the kind of recoprd this lad has when Liverpool signed him and imo this is where my money would be going. Not on Danny Graham or some foreign mercenary.
I have a feeling a deal will be done tomorrow night when everyones in the same place. Gonna KTF with MoN. I know what DG said but we've all said **** we went on to regret. His is just more visible! If MoN thinks he can do a job for us fair enough. Cest, I just hope you're not proved right but youve been consistent and you'll have every right to say I told you so if it all goes tits-up!
Odd Obviously his mum's Sunday roast means more to him than winning a medal at wembley next month. Poor attitude, he won't get a better chance of club honours in his career.
Believe me when I say Sandy but I desperately hope I am 100%wrong with him. If he has really decided to give up the chance of winning a medal and forced the issue then even I am going to admit that's a huge commitment from him as he could just as easily hang on for a few months, play at Wembley and move in the Summer? If he is looking at this as a major opportunity to come now and join us then the early signs are far more encouraging than at first glance. Do i want the lad to come and make a twat out of himself and us? Of course not as that would hurt my club and no true fan wants that. Do I trust him after his comments about us? Definitely not but as a gesture, if he has pushed this transfer through and forgoes a chance to play at Wembley to join us, then he has gone some way to building the beginnings of a bridge. Its entirely up to him now, how much more of the bridge is built from here on in. You've certainly got mine and many others interest and attention Danny Graham, now don't blow it by taking the piss.
Irrelevant point Of course he wouldn't. The newest messiah would be the best thing since sliced bread all of a sudden.
To play devils advocate here Cest, have we not already been stung by spending loads on unproven championship players in Connor Wickham? Now i know Austin is more prolific but he could be seen as a gamble and ultimately not make the step up. Also, a bit of interesting gossip i got told today with regards to DG. One of my mates from uni (im at teesside) said when DG was at boro he use to go out on the drink with him and swears blind DG use to say he was boro through and through.
I know it means little but i like to keep an eye on the odds during the windows, You've gone from 20-1 this morning to 5-1 today for graham and we have gone from 1-10 to 1-6 and we are now evens for bent + what pickford said today, the graham deal would have been done by now, i think the hold up is him waiting for you lot coming in
