I thought this was a thread about Ash - sitting with his lad just in front of us today. It will be nice to see Bo again - smashing chap and a great servant to the club. He was obviously reluctant to leave and it's nice to see him doing well. I still think, however, that our current first choice (Basso) is a bit of an improvement and our back up is pretty similar - Bo was always a good shot stopper but rarely had full command of his six yard box.

If he plays he'll get a round applause from me. Great keeper for us down the years, through all divisions.

He had his faults but he saved an awful lot of times as well.

Great servant at the club who like Ash, Dawson, Deano, Barmby etc is a big part of our history. Not at the game due to uni deadlines looming but hope Bo goes a deserved applause.

Bo is a city legend, who will forget his game v Spurs in the Premiership, OK he struggled at other times but I was gutted when the Duffen/Bartlett/Brownie regime sold him and Turner, to blow the money on Bullard, the rest is history

I agree that Basso is better than Myhill was. Myhill was always a great shot-stopper but was working on the same huge weaknesses for about 7 years and he never sorted it out.

Myhill played a massive part in our rise up the leagues and our dream season in the PL. Think back to any good result we had and Bo will have made some fantastic saves at some point, with the help of the Ricketts, Turner, Zayatte, Dawson back line in front of him. He will definitely get a round of applause from me.

Well he must have done something extra special to save us the many times he did with the likes of Kamikaze Zayatte infront of him. :)

Basso has made what 11 appearances for us and in those he has made a few errors yet you think he is better than Bo??? Really?? A player who at 36 has never been in the PL??

    Yes.

Based on the fact he hasn't made a few errors at all. He's shown to be a solid keeper who has a good all round game with no weaknesses. Myhill would make 10 flying saves one week then get lobbed by one of his own goal kicks the next.

As I said above, he played a massive part in the proudest chapter of our history and for me he is a bit of a City legend, but yes I still think Basso is better. You mention the PL thing. If BC had beaten us at Wembley then it would have been the other way around and BO wouldn't have played in the PL. Just shows how close these things can be and how little they really mean.

Myhill was a fantastic keeper for us and had many great games. The obvious one was Spurs away but our most famous victory in the Premiership was Arsenal away. While a lot of the focus went to the goalscorers Bo made a couple of great saves without which we would not have won. I always thought that some of the criticism about dominating his area was unfair. Years ago balls were lobbed into the area allowing keepers come in and claim them now a days they are put in a lot flatter and a lot faster giving the keeper a split second to decide Pearson got the reception he deserved yesterday I hope we give Bo the respect he deserves on Wednesday.

basso dropped one at the strikers feet at barnsley and somehow got lobbed from a header from a mile out at bristol, id say game by mistake ratio myhill is still doing better.

Be nice to give Bo a round of applause, he did a great job for the club and was only sent on his bike by the previous regime.
