Well - it's half-time and, so far, Boro's 1-0 against Millwall; West Ham are 1-0 against Blackpool; and Derby are (!) 1-0 over Soton. So.....we need all 3 points, especially as TWS won last night. UTT! TFFT!
Decent results today with Cardiff & Ipswich drawing and Blackpool losing. With a draw we'll be level on points with Brighton in 6th - at this moment in time I'd take that.
I'm worried now, I've got 5Live on and the bloke commentating from the Amex just said Brighton haven't failed to score at home for 34 games!
Well - as the results came in - before we kicked off, we'd slipped to 9th. However, after an 'ebb-and-flow' game (Burnsy/Swanny) we finished 0-0.....1 point.....still 6th, behind Brighton. A win would've been great, but a draw is not bad. Seven games unbeaten!
A point away from home is good. Just hope we stick a few past Watford next week. That should show what standard we're up to. Just want the strikers to come good soon.
Mclean will never come good soon. We can all see now we are a really good team. Lack of a goalscorer will cost us. Mclean has to go and Adestrolla with him. We need to invest now. The defence and midfield are spot on.
I'd expect us to be outside the play offs again come next Saturday with us not having a mid week game, but if we have hopes of been in the top 6 then we have to be looking at taking points from Watford, Forest (in their current mess) and Barnsley. Hopefully 3 games where we can try and boost our goal difference!
And what the hell is going on at Derby? They have a very average squad (to the point they agreed to loan Kilbane from us, presumably to improve their side) and they're flying!
Well, we're vulnerable to a fair-sized drop tonight: TWS, Palace, Cardiff, Ipswich, Peterborough, Leicester - at least - all threaten our 6th spot. We might not even get back there at the weekend, but let's hope we still do one on Watford. We could, at the very least, better our goal difference.
CUrrently, Donny beating Blackpool; TWS beating Cov; Forest beating Boro; Peterboro beating Cardiff and Soton beating West Ham.
