All of their players are available on free transfers apparently are there any we might be interested in.? Probably not but Im not really up on Jock football, seems a shame though a huge club like that I hope they get it sorted
Despite my personal dislike for Rangers, they have a winger called Sone Aluko who is decent, the rest of the team aint great, Davis is alright but not an improvement on what we have. McGregor is a good keeper too although prone to spontaneous errors, he is better than Kenny IMO but we have been linked with just as good players
They've been at it for yonks, dual contracts with big tax dodges. Fans sold four years worth of season tickets that will be worthless, Whyte has done them up like a kipper...
No thanks. Scottish football is crap but i hope they sort Rangers out because a lot of clubs rely on the money from their games.
who was the little scots centre forward we signed in the 80's, think we signed him from Hibs, bit of a fat midget but a good player
The problems go way back before Whyte and some of those involved have been trying to take over again. The big problem with this is that they will probably be allowed to stay in the SPL after starting a new company whilst lots and lots of people, small companies, other clubs and the taxman (which means everybody) will lose millions .... and the club can just start again. The players are an asset. Letting them go for nothing is just stealing more money from the creditors.
You're right about the time-span of the problems Eamon but Whyte's season ticket ruse was a cynical way of trying to put a finger in the dyke, those tickets 'worth' will disappear in the liquidation. The 'newco' will present the SPL with 'Hobson's Choice', damned if we do and damned if we don't. Will they vote for a Third Division start? Elgin City v Rangers seems a bit surreal, or will they allow them a SPL start which effectively says they'll be competitive within a couple of seasons? Either way, give it 3-5 years depending on the sanctions that may be levied if they start in the SPL and they'll be back exactly where they were at the start of this season, in a two-horse race, sadly, that tells you all you need to know about the state of Scottish football...
Well they are now seeing as they will be starting as a new company. They are as much a proper football team as MKD.
