Would you still like to have the plank in the summer. I hope to god come the summer there told to **** off that we have moved on to better things and hammer them in the champions league qualifier. Dnipro sound like a bunch of pikey builders always ****ing wanting money for ****e
He clearly wanted to come. The president refused to sign the paperwork. I'd still have him, just no pissing about next time. Either do the deal quickly or move on. Typical ****ing eastern Europeans. Dodgy mud wrestling batards.
I don't know enough about him, tbh, but it isn't really an area that we desperately need to improve. I wouldn't say no, but we're crying out for reinforcements in defensive midfield and I'd rather we spent the money on that.
Had anyone heard/seen him before? Is the Ukrainian football league really of the standard we should be scouting. I mean he might have looked like a good player, but put Cissokho in league 1 and he too would look quite handy too.
reality check for this.... the boy is 24. he's not actually a boy. some press started talking him up on the basis of "oh i watch ukrainian football" so he can stay out there in the small league with his tax free wages cos frankly having seen this a lot of clubs might just now go...hmm nah they can swivel. so the player himself might never be seen again frankly. it's a warm body for me. someone to look at and see what rodgers saw in him honestly. now we won't so whatever. I think we don't need 40 wingers. i would rather have another striker who scores goals and then can play elsewhere.
I've seen several references to the fact that we met the release clause but not seen it on any big news sites. I wonder if we really met it or if it is speculation.
Don't really think it's a huge problem area for us at the moment. However, it would have been nice to bring in one or two fresh faces to the squad. Don't know if we will go back in for him in the summer, don't know if Ayre and co. will want to work with that owner again. Good point being made here, if he is as good as people think he is then why is he still in the Ukrainian league at the age of 24? And is it the standard of league we should be scouting?
I hope we do go back in for him - he;s a very talented player who has come of age in the past 2 years. One of his countries best talents, amassed a few caps for the national team, and is a big game player. He's the type of player we should be targeting.
Dnipro executive director Andriy Rusol suggested that it was Liverpool who were to blame after they failed to complete payment of the £15million transfer. "We were waiting for delivery from Liverpool for the transfer of money, but this did not happen. "It is not our fault, representatives of Liverpool could arrive a day or two earlier."
Rodgers response: "The club did everything possible to get the player in," said Rodgers. "In every aspect - the finance, we had our chief scout and managing director and doctor out there to conclude the deal - and from our point categorically Ian Ayre (managing director) did a brilliant job trying to negotiate. "I've heard the problem mentioned was about the money but that was not a problem. It just wasn't to be. "I feel really sorry for the player because he was obviously desperate to come but it's gone now and we will review it in the summer."
All I can say is ROdgers has to say it so i'd like mr henry or tom warner to be heard on this too. if they say the same then frankly we can park the conversation unitl something real happens... ie. we don't think we see henry take action. If i n3 months we hear suddenly henry puts someone in to be a negotiator then thats something real.
