Think groundsman should be sacked btw, if we have undersoil heating and we also have drainage systems for this...he obviously is failing at his job imo

it is strange that the drains could not cope allthough we dont know the full circumstaces and really how bad the rain is going to continue <bubbly>

If the large street drains can't handle constant rain, there's no surprise smaller bore drainage can't.
Think you're being a bit disingenuous to the groundsman.
The pitch looked fine, but playing on it could turn it into ploughed field when it is soaked.

Got to think these off season concerts can't be doing the pitch much good, having said that. We've had some serious rain the last few months and very little sunshine. I think the pitch was probable ok to start but would have been a mess after 15/20 mins or so. (by the way isn't it great to see Villa struggle. 3-0 first half)

You just knew it, didnt you. After the Lord Mayors show. Everyone was really looking forward to Fletcher making his debut, and low and behold the bloody games off. Spare a thought for the Reading fans after a long fruitless journey. The majority of who were probably in the ground. A right bummer and no mistake.

Went to the club shop to swap my away shirt and get the bairns shirts. Never seen so many people there. They must've made a fortune with the game being off. May boost the Morecambe crowd as well as I think AJ will be playing. Met Fletcher by his car and he's a nice bloke. Shook my hand no problem.

Uae the Morcambe game as a runout for the lads - we're at the league leaders next week.

Gives Fletcher & Johnson time to train with the rest of the team, that's got to be good news
