What, you don't care if we go down so long as we keep Del? Really????
If we go down, he will leave (be sacked) anyway...

Don't understand that for the life of me.....

Please don't be nieve enough to think we will come straight back up......

I would give him four more games to start turning around.

Who's paying for Del and Doc's compensation? Because at the moment the board can't pay it get another manager and finance his buys in January.

Del said he wanted a right sided CB all through the summer for some reason 4 turned us down.

SL likes these marquee signings would not be surprised if West Ham said we owe 1 million how about you have Baldock knowing they were to sell Maynard meaning paying us sell on fees.

Coppell saw something not right at the club, Millen got lucky with Caulker on loan, face it the board won't spend on defence.

Not defending Del but something is not right behind he scenes.

My thoughts are, that the board are not very good at making the right football decisions (managers), but are very good at wasteing money, remember David James? What was that about?

I agree the board are also to blame, they should of saw the danger of not giving Del the backing with the defence. He made it clear from the last kick of the season he wanted Keogh. What did they do haggle until they lost out. Went out to try and get Gerrald haggle then lost out. Ward and Monk the same! So what happens Carey gets another years deal and yes he is a loyal servant, but we should not be thinking this way.

Del tries Baldock gets nowhere, we all knew it went off radar, so gets a cheaper option Davies who turns out IMO better than Sam, and I rate Sam highly. Now this is when i believe West Ham pulled their masterstroke, they knew Maynard was to be sold they would have to pay us a sell on clause plus what they owe us sooner, so they put the deal back on the table. The board think a signing will pacify the fans because of their tight fisted budget on the defence, would somehow paper over the cracks!
Look at all the deals Del had this season.

    Morris free
Cunningham (believed so don't quote me) 50k
Anderson around the same as Cunningham
    Pearson free
    M. Wilson free
    Davies 300k
Baldock the money West Ham owed us

Take off the West Ham owed money, Not a lot of loose money flying around 400-500k

Are the board really giving him the backing? Is Del too tight to pay for the correct players?

We don't know but something tells me that the past 2 seasons alone we have been saved by 2 loanee defenders, Caulker and Bikey. Someone has to either say we ****ed up Del here's the money go and buy a defender or say Del you ****ed up.
But if Del stays or gets sacked either way we NEED another defender PLUS a midfieder.
So pay Del and Doc up in compensation, get another manager who will probably involve more compensation or signing fee. AND still need the defender and midfielder, cash becomes harder.
Del stays no compo more cash for the defender and midfielder.

Hence the reason I'm not calling for his head yet!

Without significant investment I'm afraid McInnes is the best we can get. I want him to be given a chance if he really thinks he can turn things around. Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing him stay on if we do get relegated because it's been on the wall for a while now.

We've got a young spine to the squad now and in the next three to four years they could be great. Their first task is to keep us in this division, although as many of us predicted at the start of the season we'd be lucky to stay up.
