Dont think it is fair to say the performance was the same as WBA and Blackburn. Its not that the players did not turn up (WBA/Blackburn), but that nothing seemed to go right - the passing, holding up, shooting all seemed to be slightly off kilter and not even by a great margin but enough to cause us huge problems. IMO, we have to take our hats off to Everton who beat us at the game we are normally so good at - they gave us no space on the ball, harried and pressured us and caused us all sorts of problems. The experience the Everton players have over ours was obvious, and Moyes proved why he was one of my 1st choice managers to take over from Bruce (Him and MON were my top choices). I feel sorry for Vaughan, the OG was just one of those things. MON obviously wanted to go to a 4-3-3 formation, but I reckon (isnt hindsight great?) that he should of swapped the Greek for Killa instead, Larsson for Campbell and Colback for Bridge - Vaughan did not have the pace to cope with Everton's right wing. Disappointed? Yes End of the world? no way (well not today it isnt, might have said differently last night) - under Bruce we would have gone out in the 4th round. If this (current overall form and best cup run in a while) is what MON can get the current squad to do after a few months, I cant wait until next season after a full pre-season of coaching and a few of his own players bought in. The future is still bright, its still red and white
Pretty fair assessment, thought the Greek was woe full. My only other point about last night was the Ref who got about 6 big decision wrong in favour of Everton. Giving that prick Neville a free kick when he should have been booked for his challenge on McClean was just one of them.
