**** you Chazz. I was going to put that. 6 wins but he makes changes like he knows what he's doing. We still don't play like Real Madrid. Bruce out.
Did we put ourselves under unnecessary pressure at the end of today's game or not? Just because we got away with it, it doesn't make it any less annoying, or any less daft.
Diomande has been injured! It would be expected to bring him off towards the end if he's running on empty! And we weren't risking Abel so who would you have liked to replace him? If SB can't trust a player to come on and do a job when we're 3 up against poor opposition then we haven't got the squad we think we've got!
that was fair enough but the problems started in the last 5 to 10 minutes when he took Aluko off as well - he invited Bury to attack - they did, they scored and could and should have scored more - Bruce does this over and over again, giving the impetus over to the other side - there was no reason to take Aluko off yesterday, he was very busy and kept the Bury defence occupied - he took him off with around 10 minutes left including extra time, the dynamics of the game changed immediately, Bury scored and could have had more - an idiot can see it was the wrong thing to do, Brucie is supposed to be an experienced manager so he should know better - he even commented about how bad the last few minutes were himself whilst failing to mention that it was his stupid substitutions that led to it - he would have been better taking Junior off and putting Maguire on if he wanted to see the match out
Your points are all valid! But we don't know what's being said during the game! Aluko could be feeling a tight hamstring? We just don't know all the info! We just get to see snippets, but I stand by the fact that SB should be able to pull a few players off who haven't played a lot of games & have faith in the players to do a job at 3-0 against bury! Sometime we should look at the players and not the manager. Imo
We conceded two goals all month, and they were both late goals after taking off our strikers and going into all out defensive mode from a winning and cruising position. You chose a bad thread to try and take the piss out of those highlighting that problem didn't you?
All that is true, but I think it's unlikely that every game it is attacking players that have 'tight hamstring' or whatever
It isnt a problem. Its what Steve Bruce does. The problem is people only see it as a problem when it goes wrong as it does sometimes. No comment on doing it plenty of times when we win? Just looked Leicest 3-1 up and coasting against Everton, take Mahrez of on 80 mins for a defensive minded player. Everton push on and score once in the 89th min. But Leicester hold on and win. Against Chelsea win 2-1, take Mahrez off on 80 and defend the lead. But Leicester hold on and win. Are you complaining about us doing it against Boro, Burnley and QPR?? No Go back over Mourinho's career. He's always done it. How many times did he take Hazard off last year? To get the applause of the fans? No. To shut up shop and take the win. i'll repeat again. I dont like it and think it unnecessary at times. But thats what a hell of a lot of managers do. Because it works probably 8 out of 10 times.
People just don't like SB's tactics and will pick holes in a win whatever! I've always said " enjoy this part " if we do go up? Because we'll have other things to whinge about in the prem I'm sure!
Yes I told you about QPR already. It doesn't matter when we're 3-0 up like against Boro and Burnley, same as yesterday, but it will matter again when it's tighter like at QPR. Just like it has done so many times already.
I think that shows that it's the wrong thing to do. Hold on to win or just got away with it, either way no need for it.
I've taken a look at our games this season. You can do the same, Im sure you and others will find some excuse to justify why they arent the same as we won them. First game Hudders 2-0 up. Takes Jelavic off on 76 for Meyler. Like for like? No. You can carry on. It didnt work against Blackburn. Took a forward off for Meyler and they scored in the 90th when we were 1 up. It didnt work against Newcastle, last season, the one we all remember. But he does it a lot and it does work, for the most part.
