If you could put together the perfect modern day player, only choosing three different players what or who would you choose mine would be something like this. 1. Footballing brain-Dennis Bergkamp thought he was years ahead of his time 2. Will to win- Roy Keane uncompromising and a real leader if somewhat too aggressive at times. 3. Dribbling skills- Ronaldinho- some of the things he done on a pitch were embarrassingly good. These are just some of the things that can be used to make your choices for example you could have passing ability/crossing the ball strength in the tackle goal scoring, shot stopping, natural ability, cockiness. basically whatever you choose. Just for a bit of fun and to see what others think about what the perfect player should be, and it is still a bit of time before the season starts
150 IQ, incredible athlete able to win triathlons and run an 11 second 100m sprint. Tall but not gangley, between 6ft and 6ft 3. Plays as a box to box midfielder, able to read the game from deep and use his incredible engine and pace to finish attacks and stifle counters. Has the looks of a Swedish male model. Retires at 29. Moves to clubs beneath his reputation because he has an affinity with their culture. Has strong principles and isn't afraid to let the press know. EDIT Had a public falling out with a rival player so challenged him to charity boxing, wins by devastating KO within the first minute.
Cristiano Ronaldo's athleticism ; Lionel Messi's talent and Luke O'Nien's personality. Somebody with Messi's athleticism, O'Nien's talent and Ronaldo's personality would be fun as well mind.
So glad a few put onien in there. He is the perfect professional for us. Exactly what we needed when he signed.
Shot stopping skills of Neville Southall. Commanding his area like Peter Schmeichel. Decision Making of Petr Cech. Passing skills of Ederson. Height of Van Der Sar. Width of Butterbean.
Maldini's ability to read the game, defend 1 on 1, good in the tackle and in the air, leadership and a genuine team man. Versatility - Saachi moved him to left back and is probably the player that showed how to play on your unnatural side as well. Mind you his left peg was good enough. Socrates' grace, style, passing (no look backpass anyone), pace with the ball two footed. I cant remember many players with his level of game intelligence, always made the right decisions. Scored my all time favourite goal as well against Zoff. Maradona's outrageous talent. Skill, technique, balance, strength, finishing, dribbling, touch. Tenacity and will to win. Played for the love of the game. Greatest player I have ever seen bar none.
1. Jack Rodwell's heart. 2. Darren Gibson's driving skills. 3. Jozy Altidore's step overs. 4. Will Grigg's goal scoring. Not sure I've understood the question
I'll go for a CF with the physique and athleticism of George Weah, the control and finishing of Roberto Baggio and the mentality of AC Shevchenko.
The first thing would be a natural footballing brain as this gives you a 10 yard advantage for starters. It also enables you to open up defences and/or close down attacks. Exceptional pace and acceleration; a big weakness if you can be beaten for pace. Thirdly, an absolute pre-requisite (for me) is to be equally effective with both feet. I find it pathetic, and a major weakness, to see someone go flying down the wing and then have to get the ball onto the other foot to cross it; makes it so much easier to defend against. Being a striker my self (long ago) I would probably go for the pace and strength of Halland, and the footballing brain of Bruno or Scholes. The will to win should go without saying but unfortunately there are too many players who seem to lose this depending on how things are playing out. Roy Keane stands out as an individual but really this needs to be a team mindset
