I have been a bit quiet today but that is because I had the worst news. My little girl dog passed away this morning at 9:10am UK time whilst I am in Atlanta. I woke up at 4am EST (9am UK) with a sixth sense something was wrong and called my other half who was on her way to the vet with her. I told her she was a Good Girl and she passed away in my other half’s arms immediately after in the vet car park.

She was 13 ½ but totally healthy until last Thursday when she stopped eating.

She was a Saints fan (she is on the right in my avatar) and possibly the nicest dog you will ever meet.

    RIP Daisy. :emoticon-0153-broke

Sorry to hear that. :( My dad and his other half lost their dog while they were in South Africa. Pets do become a big part of the family (dogs especially) so it makes it even harder when you're not there when it happens.

Judging by the amount of likes it looks like "The Goodhand Arms" has it.

So sorry for your loss of Daisy, it’s a devastating thing to lose a treasured pet. I’m hoping that she didn’t suffer at the end.

    Keep strong mate

    RIP Daisy <rose>

I thought I saw Van Morrison go past my window this morning.

But it turned out to be a Morrison's van reversing.

We DID NOT walk 500 mile.

And we WOULD NOT walk 500 more.

    The Disclaimers

Rang the council today to see if I can have a skip outside my house.

He said you can cartwheel around the ****ing block for all I care!

A wife asks her husband, "Could you please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk, and if they have avocados, get 6."

A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk

The wife asks him, "Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?"

    He replied, "They had avocados."

When I was a child, my dad tried to force-feed me.

After a while, my mum said, "Just use a ****ing spoon, Mike. You're not a Jedi."

Sorry for your loss. Two of my friends, one here in Spain and the other in Southampton, have just had to say goodbye to one of their dogs, both having reached a good age but starting to suffer from health problems.

Thank you all for your kind words. It is true that pets are part of the family - especially in our case with our only daughter living on a different continent with our grandkids. They are our surrogate children. It is especially hard as I am 4500 miles away and MrsNo7 has had to deal with this all on her own. I am not embarrassed to admit that I can’t remember when as an adult that I have balled my eyes out so much.

She didn’t suffer and died in the arms of her ‘mother’ after hearing from her ‘daddy’. Thank you for all the memories Daisy and enjoy barking at all the other dogs up there. If it is ok with you we will hang on to your brother for a little longer. :emoticon-0153-broke

Oh Mark, I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s so brutal, and for you to be away as well. They really are part of the family, as has been said.

Sorry for your loss TIOON7. Pets are adopted family members, it's no easy thing when they pass but be content in the fact that you gave her a long, happy life and your memories of her will live on. RIP Daisy

Ah man, So sorry to hear this. Became a dad to a mini black panther two years ago and I regularly have morbid thoughts about the day this little furry thing won't be in my life any more, and he's still only two years old.

With a dog though I think it's better if they pass on before you do. It seems a dog's heart totally breaks when it's owner is gone. At least a human is able to find solace in those around them.

I bought a Jehovah's Witness advent calendar. When I opened the first door there was one of them stood behind it.
