With Patrick Vieira looking more likely to take charge and becoming firm favorite, what formation would you expect him to favour?

I reckon he'd go for the 4-4-2 counter attacking philosophy of the invincibles, Moussa Sissoko becoming a mainstay in the middle using his power and pace as a box to box player and delivering from the wide positions.

    But what about you?

Heard he plays a 433 system with Man City U21's so went for that!

We have a good crop of players who would suit 433.

Both Anita and Cheik would sit in the middle.

Would rather Abeid than Tiote though!

I think he'll go 4-3-3 with a DM. Very excited that he might be the new manager but we will have to wait and see if MA is as good as his word.

4-3-3 We've always had the 'type' of players for 433 in recent years (even if some where unhappy ...Ba/Cisse, Chubby Ben Arfas shocking defensive work rate etc)...

4-2-3-1 would probably work well too

Colback and Abeid pairing for me ...desperately need a quality ball playing MF though (as we have done ever since Cabaye left)

(Biggest problem with any formation porn is ..you need quality in the key areas within the team/squad...quality we a badly lacking atm)

4231 is a variation of 451 for me, still 5 across midfield.

Gone for 4-3-3 on the basis that I think he will want to build the team around Sissoko and Tiote. I also think he will like Colback as a player and probably Abeid.

I've gone for 4-6-5, in a 3d rhombus style. The same world where this fcking club appoints a progressive manager is the same one where footy is played with 15 a side on an anti gravity pitch.

McLaren might be "flexible" but he's a load of horse muck as a head coach.

That's the top and bottom of it! He's done sod all the last five years. I don't want him at all. Sod's law, we'll end up with him.

    If
To be fair, that's not strictly true. <laugh>
He's managed to get sacked twice and also resigned twice in that period, so he has been fairly active, albeit, in negative, but, financially rewarding and enriching experiences. <ok>

His record in the past 5 years is to say the least, poor. No one wants him ( but good enough for us as he's mates with carr )

Why wonder what Vieira would do, he is far to strong a character for the NUFC board to contemplate.
I just do not see him as a towing the line yes man, which is what they want.
And for that reason l sadly don't think there is a hope in he'll of securing him.
    It will be McClaren unfortunately.
