Now, as I have been away for the past 2 performances I only found out the results for both games last night. Since I've been home I noticed that Hooper came on to play alongside RvW against Villa and was just wondering did it show any promise? Also I've read that we deserved something from the Villa game so did we play badly or was it just one of those days where nothing would go in? and finally was there many positives to take from the Watford game?

P.S please don't bite my head off, just want to see what I've missed out on <laugh>

Both DM and I did separate reviews of the Watford game with player ratings on the forum somewhere.

    Re: the Villa game.

It was the same old problem of us not being able to produce that final killer ball that leads to goals. In fact, for the most part, the final ball was atrocious. We had some decent spells of possession and largely controlled the game. Villa were potent on the counter attack, as expected, in the first half but faded in the second. Overall, the performance wasn't awful but it certainly wasn't very good either. Having said that, I don't think we deserved to lose the game.

Good to have a balanced view on the forum, personally I think we were really unlucky with the ball to Hooper, so close to getting a point :(

Yes the ball just seemed to hit him. Had it been a few inches further in front of him he may well have had a better chance of a controlled finish. Also RVW had a decent chance in the first half as well in which he kind of chested it towards goal. Had he got his head to it instead it would have ended up in the back of the net.
