Spotted this on the BBC and there are some interesting names there but I guess wages would be too high for us Swans. Fancy Sidwell though. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27579533 What you think?
some good players there but when they say free then you have to look at what wages they will want and i suspect that most of them would not fit into our wage policy.. It's best for us to look for players who wants to step up a grade and who will fit into what the clubs maximum wage that will be less than we are paying bony at the moment...
Lescott could be a good shout to replace Ashley. Be nice to have Lampard start and finish his professional career with us
Agree about Lampard. It all comes down to wage expectations. If they can be managed, he would have something of value to offer.
I've been banging on about Lescott the past 12 months, unfortunately we won't be able to afford his wages
A lot of these would be unrealistic for us - and not even because of money. I don't really see sense in going for Lampard when Shelvey plays a similar role (obviously Lamps has had a wonderful career and is a better player - but if we brought him in for a year that would stall Shelvey's career, he'd leave then Lamps would retire and we'd be screwed). Sidwell was OK - but I'm more interested in some of the other options - like Ravel. Schwarzer would be fine for a season with a young lad - but would he come here if he was going to be a reserve? Rio would be an excellent signing - especially alongside a younger, promising centre-half - but he wouldn't fancy playing his last season mid-table/possibel relagation fight. He's going to a big club - or the MLS to rake in the money whilst enjoying semi-retirement. Heitinger might be an option - but I don't think he did particularly well with Fulham. Wouldn't be a bad signing. The only way Bendtner could have worked is with Laudrup here - the only possible man to stand up to his ego. But as he isn't, no way. They've really gone for a "name" 11 there.
