Reading a lot of posts people seem to think we do not have any ambition at the club anymore. Yes selling your star play does not seem great and I would of loved Wickham too stay (considering we greatly helped him become the player he is)...but lets wait for a month. Jewell has time and money now too pick out who he thinks is going to take us to the PL. If by August we have not brought in anyone exciting then by all means cast doubts over the season...but I cant imagine we would of let Wickham go if Jewell was not sure he could get people in who will get us challenging the top 6. Lets be patient with our beloved club...you never know..getting rid of Wickham could be a positive season making decision.
Mighty I understand where your coming from I really do BUT! And like Grunt Holt it is a very big BUT We need at least 7 quality footballers who we must persuade to come and play for us! We might have some money for transfers but whats the good of that when we will only offer a player peanuts! Don't forget a number of players have left because the club insisted on reduced terms. I'm not saying we should go mad and throw money around but if we want to compete we will have to pay the wages and I can't see Evans allowing that!
Yes, attracting players is a worry, but we will just have too wait and see. No point saying we cant attract anyone when we got Bullard on loan last season and brought in Chopra who is a proven championship goalscorer. I think Ipswich is an attractive proposition...and do we really want players who are only at the club becuase we offered them the most wages??? I know the game is in a money driven state...but surely there are some players who aren't just money driven!!!
