The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference.

"True supporters care. They care enough to argue vehemently but often perceptively about the team, the players, the issues; they care enough to commit themselves to the cause of the club; they care enough to turn up week after week to support the team; they care enough to criticise, among themselves, their own players. The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference.”

I haven't been around that much recently; work has gone mad, family life has been problematic and as the paragraph above states I think I've become indifferent to the club I used to love.

Matchdays don't feel the same, I don't get the nerves before kick off anymore. I can put that down to real world stress and pressure of working on large contracts and very little down time to relax. I don't think I can be bothered to argue my case or opinions on these forums anymore.

I've just logged on and seen the Gyan threads and where previously I would be going mental, at the player, the manager and the club, it seemed to barely register.

Think I'm going to take a break for a while, some will post sarcastic comments below this thread, that I should have sloped off without bothering to knock out a waste of time thread but I've made a lot of good mates here and, I just didn't want to **** off without saying why I've gone.

    It's been emotional.

The thing is mate people will put their own spin on things whatever happens.
Hopefully they can do it without abuse towards other Mackems, like the pro Bruce guys seem to like to do.
I have only been browsing lately, having to have to explain yourself every thread gets very wearing.
I find it sad that Gyan is getting strung up without knowing both sides of the story.
Hopefully, you will be back posting soon. <ok>

    and vice versa.

but i do know what he means, after the past few months I have had, there are things that are just more important than football, all this Bruce in/out Bent Gyan etc etc, i just dont care as much as i probably should. That doesnt mean I will stop following Football or Sunderland, just there are more things important in life to get stressed/worried/pissed off with than a game of football.

Starting to loose interest my self.

After loosing Bent last season I was starting to see the positive side again during pre season. Although I was left disappointed when the transfer window closed.

I probably could of took defeat today, but the Gyan thing was just a kick in the balls. No even interested in watching the match today.

Its the fans committed to season tickets I feel sorry for.

Vaux. I'm feeling exactly the same. Mind you, I will log on for a look at the craik and enjoy reading the banter. I have often said how much I love this place, you people, but right now I don't love SAFC. Its the fault of Quinn. Then Bruce. Then Short. BUT they are all at fault. Tara for now.
