  1. First off... wtf lol. The Android app header "The Not 606 android app.... it will make women want to have sex with you" xD

    Maltese Mick you ****ing legend!

Anyway, i see we're close to signing Yohan Cabeye.

I talked to someone this morning, one of my dads friends, who lives in Newcastle but is from France, and he goes back there for the winter to see his family.

He's a Lille supporter, and i asked him about Gervinho, Cabeye and Sow.

These are his exact words -

"Sow is over rated, he benifits so much from Gervinho and Hazard on the wings. Don't get me wrong, he's a great CF and probably good enough to get in the starting 11 of any team below the top 4 in the premier league, but he's just not in the same league as Gervinho and Hazard".

"Cabeye is is potentially a brilliant player, probably better than any of your midfielders, except maybe Cheik Tiote, however he has too many off days for me. He seems to be really hot for about 3 games and then blows out cold for 3 games. He's inconsistant but a good player, one that will score 4-6 goals a season and get around 7/8 assists. He was excellent in 09/10 but not so great this season for some reason"

"Gervinho an amazing player, and i can't believe he would think about going to teams like you and Arsenal, no offense. He should be playing for Real Madrid, he's as good as Di Maria on his day. I hope he stays, and if you manage to buy him for only 10m euros i will be extremely angry with my club, as he's worth double that in my opinion".

I asked him to make a comparison between Gervinho and Ben Arfa, and.... lol... he said "Gervinho would take Ben Arfa, eat him and **** him back out again". So i reckon that message is pretty clear then haha.

I know this is only one guys opinion, but he's an intelligent man and around my dads age, so i'll trust his opinion.

If what he says about Cabeye is true, would you still want to sign him? Also, it's made me even hungrier about the attempt to sign Gervinho, however i still doubt it will happen.

Gervinho will never, ever happen. Cabeye doesn't sound so good all of a sudden, but maybe if he's in poor form we could just replace him with Nolan? Never really fancied Sow anyway.

Cabeye - Yes. Better than Nolan and probably on par with Barton, although I wouldn't want him to be Barton's replacement because you just don't know how he'll adapt to the English game which is more physical and demanding than the French League which is more technical based.

Gervinho - YES! With him and Ben Arfa(fully fit) next season we could be challenging for the Europa Cup spots.

Sow - Mmm.. not so sure if I'm honest. Better than all of our current strikers but I'll personally prefer someone like Gamiero or Demba Ba. Sow might just be a one hit French season wonder.

not so sure about the Gervinho, i've been hearing he's pretty close to signing for us as he's mates with Tiote and seems to be keen on the club+ Cabeye looks good from the videos i've seen but we really want a consistant performer who won't disapoint

Good article , still want Cabeye and as tomw362 when he goes off form we could replace him with Nolan or someone else. Knew that Gervinho was this could but not holding my breath. He'll stay or go to Arsenal. Would like Sow to come , he may look a little **** in comparison with Gervinho and Hazard but these are two world class players you're talking about. Could still do the job for us.

Don't know anything about Cabaye so not really getting excited..

Obvious yes to Gervinho, I think he could get into any team in the league, but I don't think it will happen

No to Sow, would rather have Ba on a free.

    Rep Tash!

A Frenchman who is a little hot n cold at times...Lauren Robert anyone? He was capable of producing moments of pure genius and completely changing a game.

Gervinho sounds too good to be true. No offense to your Dad's mate, but mentioning us and Arsenal in the same sentence is a little off, they've been consistantly top 4 for the past however many seasons and look 2 or 3 players short of a title IMO! Gervinho could be their missing link up front (then just a good GK and CB)
