I'm sorry, but OGS is the only manager linked with us who I can't see possibly failing. For those who don't agree by saying: 1. HE HAS NO EXPERIENCE! HE's UNPROVEN! He managed United's reserves to the league title, was mentored by Fergie, has just won the league in Norway with a club who had never won the league in their history. Spent virtually no money, so regardless of the budget the Allams and AP give him, he won't moan. 2. HE HAS NO CONNECTION TO HULL! WHY IN GOD'S NAME WOULD HE COME HERE?! True, he's never played for Hull, but he knows all of our young players and I'm sure would still talk to Fergie about taking the team forward. And, if we get Barmby & Joyce on the coaching staff, surely we can't slide down the league. 3. WE'RE TO SMALL A CLUB FOR HIM TO SHOW ANY INTEREST! Yes, he has an illustrious career so far, and he's been touted as a successor to Fergie, (but then again, who hasn't), but I think Hull is a fantastic club for him to start with in England, with the players able to develop and a platform for future success. 4. IF WE APPOINT HIM, HE'LL USE US AS A STEPPING STONE! Who knows? But he's no Pearson. If he leaves us after a couple of years, I don't think we'll still be in The Championship. We may be regular opponents for one of his former clubs Any views? UTT!
My choice in order of preference would be: 1-Mclaren. 2-Solskjaer. 3-Joyce. i think the Man U connection is helping us greatly and I'd like to see it continue.
I would love him but he has no experience in managing in England, he only managed alongside Joyce with the reserves not managed them. He has shown no interested in coming over to England yet, and his mentor Sir Alex has told him not to.
If he has just won the league title in Norway doesn't he get a shot at The Champion League, I know he may fail miserably but he might still want to give it a shot?
Anyone who thinks for one minute that we will get OGS or Joyce as our manager is clutching at straws. I would be suprised if we got anyone decent. The compo money for Nigel will go on the debt, I don't believe for a minute there is money to spend in January and I think we will end up with some tin pot manager who's either out of work for being utter **** or totally unproven and with no reputation to back up the risk
whats the pressure to succeed managing Uniteds reserve team , ? What they are doing there is learning specific roles really , not so much management of a club with clear goals and fans getting on ur back . Not many reserve coaches get stick for a losing streak
Brian Kidd springs to mind. One of the most successful AM Fergie ever had and look what happened to him when he went it on his own. Same as Queiroz when he left United. Yes, there are some ex Utd players who are relatively successful in their own right, but none of them have actually worked under Ferguson before going it alone. Yes Joyce and Solskjaer may have worked miracles at Utd but take them away from the biggest club in the world and the best manager and it's too much of a risk to take IMO.
its very very hard to argue with any of ^^^^^^^^^^ this. with joyce and barmby in tandum how can City fail. it would most certainly put a stop to any attempt NP had of coming back for any of the kids. imo. i know ive said i want joyce as manager, but this trio in any form or guise will do. happy days.
