Not much of a build up to this years Olympic games. Start in 6 weeks in Rio. Anyone an avid watcher, part time is nothing else is on, or do you avoid it at all costs? Can we name all the olympic events? Also do you agree that proffesional players should take part in the football? (I dont know the criteria on selection)
The boxing one was the one worrying me pro's vs amateur... Somebody was gonna get killed. Couldn't give a **** about it to be honest, doping is rife so it's just a joke now.
Pretty disinterested really, another sport/competition where the governing bodies can't get their acts together regards drugs cheating. Seb Coes lot have just had their corruption scandals and when the FIFA one settles down I think the Olympic Organising Committee will be next to face an investigation. Wherever there is a large tournament, then monies, change hands and corrupt people can't help themselves from dipping into the till. As for the sports side athletics is boring imo.
I read a headline about them competing as neautrals? Maybe i misread. Should have read the article really.
Suppose all the attention is on the Euro's but haven't heard anything about how our competitors training is going and that sort of thing. Like watching our more famous people but beyond that usually find it a bit of a drag
I think that applies to those Russians who are training abroad and can prove they have no connection to the goings on within the Russian federation, how they would actually do that has not been explained. Some athletes based themselves abroad for varying reasons, better coaches, altitude etc and don't want to be tarred with the same brush which is fair enough.

Like you said neutral or independent, representing themselves without being attached to any country, would be interesting to see if this happened and how the IOC handle it.
I normally love the Olympics, but with all the dug cheating coming out in the wash it has put a damper on it for me..
I dont mind some of it. Bit of track and field. I also like watching the rings. (No not their hoops). Their power and skill is immense.
They should do the drug Olympics as well, where every athlete has to be wired to compete. I wonder how many new WR's we'd see. And here's Wilson Egogoboo of Kenya attempting the 15,000m stoned race. The gun went off about 45 minutes ago but they're all still chilled on the start line, skinning up and listening to reggae.
Master of none. Superb at many. What is GB good at these days. Wheres the medals coming? Cycling. Rowing? What events do i need to look out for, for a GB medal?
