First half we were to be honest bloody awful! Sounds harsh to say it but we improved massively when Whitbread went off (nothing too serious thank god as well - looked bad!) but still looked garbage, yes we were that bad. Against a better side than Boro we'd have been buried. Whatever was said or in the tea at half time - what a transformation, only slight gripe is Chris Wood - what's happened to him? A shadow of the player we signed last season. Dd my man of the match scored a great goal, Vardy finished his goal well and we could have had a coupe more. Early days but 10 games in will be a better reflection of how the season is going.
I know it´s only 1 game & I agree with what you say ref being buried v a better team (from what I´ve read). No clean sheet was something that worried me last season & I think it will this too. Again very early days but as a team if we perform like we did in the 1st half v other teams & fail to keep a CS then NP will be asking for trouble. Wood, Nugent & Vardy all need good seasons as does our DEF & if King & Knocky can find form then we´ll have a chance, BUT there are to many very good teams in this lge so who knows wtf will happen. Good win away from home though I just hope they keep it up especially v Brum as I will be there.
tbf whitbread went off within 10 minutes (probably 20 by the time he was treated but it happened within 10 minutes) and then then we were piss poor for the next 35 minutes, cant blame whitbread for that. What i would say is i think Liam Moore has become the 2nd best CB at the club.
Better to have a game of two halves than a whole season of two halves. Didnt see the game but a good result and a good start. Unless there is an injury never change a winning team though I do feel sympathy for Waggy. Stability at the KP might just about get the job done.
Nigel has to sign at least 1 centre half if he wants to play 532 for the majority of the season. We have 4 centre halfs with 2 of them injury prone and 1 of them is naturally a right back
