Is a bit of an embarrassment. I used to read and sometimes contribute to the 'Southampton FC Supporters' group, but unfortunately that seems to have been completely abandoned in favour of the new official one which consists of morons moaning about how we've supposedly run out of money because "Since st marcs [sic] passing we havent [sic] spent anything", but who simultaneously expect us to be signing a Premiership quality player every few days. As a result, I've joined not606 and am looking forward to discussing all things Saints from now on with some more rational folk.
Welcome to the Saints board beanpole. We try to be rational on here but some do not succeed. If any one begins to get under your skin just put them onto your ignore list and Pm either myself or kingslandsfc if you feel the need for further action. In the main we have a good crowd on here and often some good honest debates, although close season to be fair it is a bit quiet. Anyway we look forward to your contribution........Enjoy.........
It is pretty good on here; thankfully the bitterness expressed between fans of different clubs and moronic comments have, in general, passed us by. I have viewed some of the Premiership club boards and regrettably the old 606 genre still applies. However, always nice to have another friendly character on the board - so welcome!
I 100% agree. Not only are the majority of posts complete drivel, but the same inane comment/question is reposted constantly by different people as if they are either unable to read or construct thoughts of their own. It really is embarrassing! Strange how one facebook group can be decent (SFC Supporters) and another so poor (Officialsaints)....its probably unfair to blame it all on the younger generation but that seems to me to be the main difference between the two. Anyway, in not606 im sure you will enjoy a better quality of discussion!
Try to resist the urge to tell them all that they are morons, yes I know it's tough. By the way I wonder who at the club holds the password to that and how "official" it really is. It's not bad though.

So true what you say, the supporters page was brilliant and the official one has people who like to think of themselves fans but actually know very little, the type who were at the united game, more to see united. Welcome along, it's much better here
I'm convinced that a higher than average proportion of the people who write on that facebook page are those who jump on player's backs after one or two mistakes, boo at half-time if we're level or behind and expect us to spend millions in this transfer window. These are the people that will become impatient and jump on the 'Adkins out' bandwagon if we're not top six towards the end of the season. As a supporter I prefer to support my club. Think it might be time to go on there and educate...or is it worth it?

Agreed! It seems like the Official Saints page on facebook is being run by 5 year olds with all the & & 's everywhere. Is it actually 'Official'? I know the @OfficialSaints Twitter went through a phase like the above. I know, previously, it was run by Jordan Sibley (club spokesman) and everything was fine and dandy, then some 5 year old got a hold of it and put smiley's on everything. If you're on twitter I recommend following Jordan SIbley & Tom Coull for up to date Saints stuff.
