Discuss all things traditional music here.

Perhaps you go to Fleadhs every year.
Perhaps you play an instrument yourself.
Perhaps you just go to seisuns for the drinking and craic.

    It's all good.

I used to play the tin whistle and fiddle and it is a big regret I have that gave it up. I never entered competitions though as I was more of a seisun player than a competition player. The best instrument is the traditional flute, I just love the sound of it.

Big fan of Sharon Shannon. Always try to catch her when she's in Scotland.

This better not go the way of previous Irish threads. It is about traditional music and that is all.

Much as I love Ireland and the Irish Im not keen on traditional music be it Scotch, English, Welsh or Irish.

A lot of people do enjoy it though and thats great.

    Cue STD's Irish bashing...........

I'm more of a purist and I like musicians like Catherine and John McEvoy.

I went for a lunchtime pint in Spain , as i am here visiting family. We went to an Irish bar and ordered a Murphies , the waitress asked if we wanted Murphy red?.... They have 2 types is that normal?.... I had Heineken

Utterly horrific thought. A disgusting, vile aberration of nature. God would cry to see his vision so cruelly maligned.
