DRS will be placed on the run up to Hockenheim’s hairpin as Formula 1 returns to the German venue this weekend. As the country’s Grand Prix is now alternating with the Nürburgring, the sport is yet to visit the former since 2010. The detection point, measuring whether or not a car is within one second of that in front, will be placed on the exit of Turn 4, with activation coming 260 metres later to allow for use though the long Parabolika which leads the field to the hairpin of Turn 6. Not only has DRS not yet been used at Hockenheim, but fellow 2011 newcomer Pirelli is also visiting the Heidelberg venue for the first time. KERS will make a debut at the track too, as the teams had a pact in place not to use the system two years ago. http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/281467/hockenheim-drs-zone-to-come-before-hairpin/
Must be honest I prefer Nurburgring to Hockenheim. The hairpin's the only place that you can overtake Mercedes might have a chance here perhaps?
Still hate the 'new' Hockenheim, for me it really does not test the drivers that much, can only really overtake at the hairpin as well. Gone for Vettel as he is on home soil and is due a good result
Button. This season reminds me of 2010, and he's "doing an Alonso" as in 2010 Alonso won the first race, had a crappy mid season, then won in Germany.
I've gone for Lewis Hamilton, as SV never does well in germany, so he can be discounted, Hamilton is the next logical vote.
Jenson just because he has to win, though it wouldnt surprise me if Seb broke his duck by winning in Germany and July.
They are both good tracks I think. though the old Hock was one of the worlds best and a shame they changed it. though you could probably say the same about the Nurb
I think it will be a Red Bull or a Lotus depending on track temp. Vettle was poor (by his standards) last year so I will punt for Webber or Kimi.
Gone for Lewis all year and apart from Canada, appear to have jinxed the fella, time to start jinxing Alonso ;-)
Schumacher for me, the track is great for the use of DRS in Qualifying, and recently he has been a strong match for Nico.
Somebody wants Alonso to lose! But if i'm honest, I think Ferrari will be best here and the team to beat.
