A big thank you to Mick for adding this section please log in to view this image This weekend sees the 79th annual running of, arguably the greatest motor race in history, the 24 Heures du Mans. Once again we have the clash of the LMP1 titans in Peugeot with their improved 908 and Audi with their brand spanking new R18 which sees Audi enter their first closed cockpit car into the LMP1 class. 2011 also sees the introduction of new regulations and a reorganising of classes within the race. Here is a list of useful links for the race. Entry List Spotters Guide 1, Spotters Guide 2 Official Race Site and Planet Le Mans for useful links and up to date news as it happens. The Le Mans 24 hour is a great spectacle. Unfortunately, I stopped subscribing to sky so I will not be able to watch it on eurosport. I will have to track down coverage on the internet.
Ive noticed the Le mans cars have copied the F1 sharkfins this year. Audi please log in to view this image Peurgeot please log in to view this image Aston Martin please log in to view this image
Chris - if you have the sky news and events pack added on (£1) then you will get eurosport. Genji - true, didnt actually look at them a copy and paster job if im honest so il correct that now.
What he said. Prototypes have a habit of doing funny things in crashes and if they catch a bit of air the wrong way. I heard there were also changes made to the underside of the car to prevent somersaults that can happen if the nose lifts (cresting a hill for example) and air catches the underneath of the car
Thanks RI/JI. I have to say the Peurgeot looks a sexy beast this year. Has anybody got a full enty list?

For people interested in British drivers then the official site says that there are 25 GB drivers entered. However, according to the official entry list then there are 28. The list shows frenchman Nicolas MINASSIAN as GBR and Alan McNish as MCO. Don't quite follow that.
