What a bizarre idea? Surely West Ham should just pay a fee at the market value and that compensates public funds. I can't think of any reason why they should share sale profits?

You can just imagine Levy negotiating resale figures!...glad it was a non-starter, never believed we were in for it anyway.

That aside, not the best timing to put an article here seeing West Ham possibly better off. <whistle>

Yes, they could do it that way. I can only assume that as There's somewhere north of £100mil more coming from public funds to convert the stadium, that Boris is hoping to make a profit if The Porn Merchants decide to sell up.

    Mr confused writes....

West Ham want the OS as a football stadium so the conversion will be paid for by the public. Er... they want a stadium they should pay for it. They're already getting a ludicrously good deal anyway!

Sounds like the modern way, eg the railways are privatised so if we want to build new railways for the private companies to use the.... public pays for it.

The whole 'legacy' business is a farce anyway, from the insistence on an athletics track through the original bid and the fact there are apparently legacy 'directors' who have nothing to do with the bid process (how many directors do they need?)

I agree. Obviously why it's so attractive. I'm sure the dodgy porn merchants would be only too happy to get their agreement in place, take the public funds, then sell up and scarper with a nice fat profit.

how can they sell the place,if they are only tenants, renting it?

  9. Tots - it relates to any future sale of the Spammers by the Porn Twins: the tenancy at the OS is thought likely to increase the general value of the club.

The thing is, West Ham are merely renting the stadium, so the terms being laid out to them are utterly bizarre...until you remember that what Seb Coent and his mates really want is for nobody to get the stadium so UK Athletics can have it all for themselves - even though West Ham come closer to selling out Upton Park than any athletics event has ever come to selling out Crystal Palace.

Just charge the public to sponsor a bulldozer or stick of C4 for the ****ing thing, the deficit would be cut faster than any of George Osbourne's schemes to make the lower classes die of hypothermia or malnutrition.

The Olympics athletics success was the worst thing that could have happened
    for a football bidder.

And from what you can see, it looks like the Golds are going to have to delve
down the back of a lot more sofas to find the money to pay their share of the
    seating conversion.

Clear the Olympic park and build houses/flats in the massive space it would leave.

    Everyone is a winner then.

Although traffic would be a nightmare I think it'd the best idea.

I've been saying it for years, if they want to make a profit on the site they'll ask the public to sponsor a bulldozer to tear the ****ing thing down.
