So this was talked about before, but I may as well take the first steps in kicking this off: Ladies (again, if we have any, own up) and Gentleman, welcome to the 2013 season long championship of Paco's F1 Game[SUP]®[/SUP]. After Silver stole the keys to the notFIA offices and ran away with them, we've only just managed to bust our way back in to get this championship going. If Silver would like to return with the keys, that'd be much appreciated, as going through the window each time is going to get expensive. Anyway, rules are simple, for those unfamiliar. There will be one race per real race weekend. In the week leading up to it, the race thread will be put up (I'm happy to administrate, but if I'm away I'll delegate) with instructions on how the race will start. Sometimes it'll be a simple one, other times not, and with at least a week between races, I'm going to have plenty of time to be evil . Generally though I imagine it'll involve some kind of clue in the "Chat and Predictions thread". There will also be a bonus race during the 3 week summer F1 break, to bring us up to a 19 race season. It might be a little different, but we'll see. Once you find the signal, post "Finish" (I'm not going to be fussy about how) in the relevant race thread, and points will be awarded as per the F1 scoring system. If you're interested in signing up, please post in this thread with which team you'd like to join. The current incumbents of seats from BLS' highly successful season 2 get first dibs on their own seat, but if they wish to change/withdraw, please could you let me know. Teams: Lotus 1. I don't really understand how it works but I'll go in. Does it matter what car your in? I'll take a seat in force india anyway
No it doesn't matter pal, basically if there is any hint he has said start or if he has led a clue to make us a believe that he has said start. We post Finish. It sounds simple, but it is really competitive, and some people.... *ahem RR* take it very seriously. Go for it, the more the merrier.
How would he know if I'd found the clue though? Could I just randomly type Finish in the thread without looking and hope for the best?
He can either say simply start, on this thread... or type it in white and and make us highlight it, or he could tell us that the race starts at say 20:00 NOT606 clock (which is at the bottom), that means when the clock strikes we have to post finish. What makes it harder, is the fact some of our computers are out of sync with this clock. Some users are out, asleep (RR in Oz), or busy which makes the championship very tight and crazily addictive. Normally if you finish and start has not been posted.. you can get a time penalty, which is added to your original post time :L Yeah you post finish and hope for the best though, simply put.
To try and clarify, in a race C+P thread I'll either randomly post start (in which case that's when the race has begun) or perhaps edit it into a previous post. When someone has seen it, someone will post finish, and usually everyone else follows pretty quickly. There's usually some kind of penalty for jump starting. Teams are updated, rookie Shogs is looking for a team-mate in the newly reformed Force India outfit, whilst the shock departure of Paco from the lead Mclaren may be the trigger for an exciting merry go round of driver changes. The experienced Paco allegedly left Mclaren after they refused his exorbitant race fee of a packet of biscuits. However, other sources suggests wanting to keep his pet Hamster "Richard" in the car with him was causing friction between him and the team. Will anyone come in for the experienced veteran? Can anyone match his race fee? Will a team be prepared to sacrifice some efficiency to accommodate his furry Richard, in return for his excellent post-timing management? Does Paco want a fresh challenge, building a team from the ground up with Shogs? Question marks still surround the perennial number 2 at Lotus, El_Bando. Fed up with living in his team-mates shadow, will Mclaren offer him an escape as team leader of one of Lotus' biggest rivals? Stay tuned guys as the answers to these questions and more no doubt unfold over the coming days.
Considering a move as well...If I'm not paired with EB, then I want to be paired with someone just as strong as him who could help win the WCC...
I don't take it seriously! I just think about it every second of every minute of every day of every week of every month before it was even invented! But I do not take it seriously.
Can I have a seat fitting at FI as well, if not already taken? Me and Shogs, the dream team! (he can be Di Resta..)
I didn't punch that bloke, he repeatedly walked into my fist and topped it off by diving head first onto my right foot!
After a season in the wilderness, BrightLampShade returns this season to front the Mclaren team. Devastated after narrowly missing out on the title in Season 1, BLS took a season out, using the time to become more familiar with the finer rules of this complex sport. With a season of studying and hardcore training under his belt, BLS returns to try and lead Mclaren to glory. In other news, Force India complete its line-up with another rookie, Jonnybaws. Force India represent a dark horse this year, with their pace completely unknown. Jonnybaws recent promise never to leave the paddock for an extended length of time again should help him finish, whilst Shogs is well known around his home of the Everton board for his quick reactions. But, with neither having competed before, will they struggle to spot the lights going out? After a below par performance in Season 2, El_Bando is still considering a move, and rumours are growing that this could trigger double world champion Roadrunner to move, in search of an experienced team-mate to help him compete for the illusive Constructors Championship. In amongst this, Paco is yet to commit to a team? Could it be 2 from 3 to fill the seats in a new, championship-challenging outfit? Time is running out for these issues to be sorted out, with the first race just days away. Have these rumours effected pre-season testing for the Lotus team? Will Mclaren's returning driver take time to settle in? And will this leave the unchanged Williams outfit in pole position to retain their Constructors crown?
