Shamelessly stolen from toonforum.co.uk/tfi which in turn was inspired by capelloindex.com comes the not606 F1 Index. The basic idea is to rank each driver out of 10 - adding a comment if you like. I'll take the average score and publish them in this/a different post. Then at the end of the season we can see who we think has done the best! Before we start though, I've put a poll up to decide what we rank the drivers on. Please use this order so easier to collect data. Rosberg - Magnusson - Button - Alonso - Bottas - Hulkenberg - Raikkonen - Vergne - Kyvat - Perez - Sutil - Gutierrez - Chilton - Bianchi - Grosjean - Maldonado - Ericsson - Vettel - Hamilton - Massa - Kobayashi - Ricciardo -
I'd probably rate them on a 65/35 split between the race and quali. Obviously the race is more important but quali is still a factor.
Yeah, it'd be up to you for the split, but just wanted to see if the forum agreed with me that quali affects driver ratings. Looks like they will so will start ratings soon
Yeah, but nothing much happens with it. I hope to actually use the data, show how we rank the drivers etc
Rosberg - 8 - Easy for him, but still got it done Magnusson - 8.5 - Great drive for a rookie, looked composed and ran well Button - 7 - Disappointing quali, little lucky with the SC but had the speed. Alonso - 8 - As far up the field he could get Bottas - 7.5 - Made an error early on, could have had podium. Very good otherwise Hulkenberg - 7 - Typical Hulk performance Raikkonen - 6 - Average, Alonso had him on toast Vergne - 7.5 - Good quali and race, couple of silly errors Kyvat - 7.5 - Very good first race Perez - 6.5 - Pretty anonymous Sutil - 7 Gutierrez - 6 Chilton - 6.5 Bianchi - 6.5 Grosjean - 6 - Difficult to tell Maldonado - 6 Ericsson - 6.5 - Looked competent Vettel - 6 - Disappointing Hamilton - 7 - Pole and unlucky with problems Massa - 6.5 - Faster than Bottas in quali, could do nothing in race Kobayashi - 6.5 - Got through to Q2 Ricciardo - 9 - Fantastic drive, even if it was with an illegal car
Rosberg - 8 Magnusson - 8.5 Button - 8 Alonso - 7 Bottas - 7.5 Hulkenberg - 7.5 Raikkonen - 4 Vergne - 6.5 Kyvat - 7 Perez - 5 Sutil - 6 Gutierrez - 5 Chilton - 6 Bianchi - 7 Grosjean - 6 Maldonado - 6 Ericsson - 6.5 Vettel - 5 Hamilton - 7.5 Massa - 7 Kobayashi - 6 Ricciardo - 9

Rosberg - 8 Magnusson - 9 Button - 8 Alonso - 7 Bottas - 8 Hulkenberg - 7.5 Raikkonen - 7 Vergne - 7 Kyvat - 8.5 Perez - 5.5 Sutil - 6 Gutierrez - 5 Chilton - 6 Bianchi - 6 Grosjean - 6 Maldonado - 6 Ericsson - 6 Vettel - 7 Hamilton - 8 Massa - 7.5 Kobayashi - 7.5 Ricciardo - 9 Just like to point out that i meant to click ranking for race and qualifying. Practice is just like testing. The drivers are working on upgrades and set ups, rather than fastest times, and most drivers aren't in full qualifying trim
Also, if a driver retired from the race because of a mechanical/technical problem, or was involved in a crash that wasn't their fault, then my ranking will be for their qualifying performance and their performance in the race up to the point they retired or where hindered due to car problems. Seems the fairest way to do it

Rosberg - 7.5 - Clearly the best car, outqualified by his team mate and a Red Bull Magnusson - 9.0 - Outqualified his team mate, and ran well in the race although benefited from retirments/DSQ. Great Debute Button - 8 - I'll give the benefit of the doubt that he would have qual better if not for the yellow. Raced well on strategy and went forward. Alonso - 7 - Probably got the best out of the car. Bottas - 7 - Unlucky with the gearbox change but threw away an opportunity to challenge for the win in what is clearly a very fast car. Hulkenberg - 8.0 - Always seems to make his way to the sharp end, regardless of the car. Raikkonen - 5.5 - Mistake in quali and a very quite race. Vergne - 6.5 - Good all round job Kyvat - 7 - rated higher than his team mate because of being a rookie Perez - 5 - In the shadows of his team mate and I fear this could be the story of the season Sutil - 5- Gutierrez - 5 Chilton - 6 Bianchi - 6 Grosjean - 5 Maldonado - 5 Ericsson - 5 Vettel - 5 - difficult to rate because he can only drive what he sits in, although seemed behing his team mate all weekend, even if there are concerns over the sister RB Hamilton - 7.0 Excellent quali but race affected by reliabilty so as Vettel unable to rate. Massa - 6.5 - as above but should have put the Williams higher in quali Kobayashi - 5 - Ricciardo - 5 - Same as Vettel for me given that the legality of his car has been questioned and the FIA have stated that it was also questioned in Quali.
wasn't sur ehow it was being done, then it dropped down the list and was forgotten (week long stickie?). It's hard to judge the drivers atm normally you can make judgement against their team-mate, but due to the fundamental change in technology wreacking havoc on performance it's really going to be too hard to tell for a few races.
Yeah, hopefully next race will better for turnout, I'll name it Malaysian GP Driver Ratings instead as well. It's just a bit of fun so just rate them as you seem them. Don't mind if you wait until Spain before voting though
I meant to vote but I've just not found much time lately! I'll be sure to do it in Malaysia and onwards though! I have to say that I'm surprised that Gutierrez was worst, he did a solid job in my opinion and just went unnoticed, it's a shame that the car wasn't there!
Sorry I'm late.... Rosberg - 9 Magnusson - 9 Button - 8 Alonso - 7 Bottas - 8 Hulkenberg - 8 Raikkonen - 6 Vergne - 7 Kyvat - 8 Perez - 5 Sutil - 5 Gutierrez - 5 Chilton - 5 Bianchi - 5 Grosjean - 6 Maldonado - 6 Ericsson - 4 Vettel - 4 Hamilton - 8 Massa - 7 Kobayashi - 7 Ricciardo - 8
