The only one that appeals to me tomorrow is Fighting Back 19.20 Kempton. (You can see the entries by clicking the name)

"Slowly away, ran green in rear, in danger of losing touch 6f out and pushed along, progress over 2f out, shaken up over 1f out, keeping on when not much room near finish" (From RP)

That was on this course over a 2f shorter trip. By Galileo and with some interesting middle distance horses back in the dam's pedigree (Arc winner Start Apppeal and French Derby winner Val de Loir who, incidentally, was the dam sire of Shergar and also of the Oaks winner Sun Princess) Fighting Back should appreciate the step up in trip.

No prices available but I would hope he will be long enough for an ew dabble.

    Morning, all. Hope everyone well.

There's a nice fillies Group 3 over the water at Fairyhouse, this eve (7.00), and do you know what regular readers I quite like one contained therein. WANNABE BETTER, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, is a 4 time winner who is most effective at this sort of level in that she already has in her locker a pair of Listed successes and a Group 3 win. That Group success was achieved last time out and to my eye that performance is some way above that of her rivals she meets today. On that occasion Wannabe Better brushed aside some very useful types including Eastern Rules, Brendan Brackan and Big Break. That win was on today’s ‘good to firm’ surface so conditions are likely to prove ideal for the old girl here. That isn’t Wannabe Better’s sole piece of decent form this term, incidentally, and her 3rd, a nose behind Custom Cut at The Curragh in April, also to my eye puts her ahead of tonight’s opponents. Incidentally the old boy official handicapper would agree with this as on his perches Wannabe Better emerges top rated. A negative is that Wannabe Better carries a 3 lb penalty for that Curragh win but I really can’t see that stopping her as I think she could be a fair bit better than the fillies contesting this eve’s race. The current quote of 7/2, from old boy Victor, looks quite appealing to this correspondent.

    Good luck, troops.

Looked at Smoke's 300-1 shot. It reminded me of one of Australia's greats from the late 1930s, Ajax. He'd won 18 on the trot, all Group races, and went into the Rawson Stakes in 1939 as a 40 to 1 on shot. He faced only two runners. The Kiwi champ Defaulter was entered for the race, but connections stated that he'd only start if Ajax was withdrawn. Defaulter was scratched. If Ajax could beat the Queensland hero Spear Chief and a struggler called Allunga, he's match the record 19 successive wins of Desert Gold and Gloaming. Allunga took him on to the turn before Spear Chief came after him. And try as he might, the great horse failed to hold off the 40 to 1 outsider in the run to the post. He went down a half length. A 40 to 1 on shot beaten by a 40 to 1 bolter.

Bloody hell. Market Mover, backed today from 7s into best priced 3s (9/4 with Lads). I wonder what price was available last night.

Andy Murray being completely blown away by Dimitrov at present. Lost the first set 6-1 in what seemed like about 5 minutes!! Got 11-8 in play on Dimitrov but he's rapidly becoming odds on. Won Queens so a massive test for Murray and looks the real deal.

Done a big win double on SOLAR VIEW (8.10 Chepstow) and JAZZ MAN (5.55 Worcester). Both odds on but both won last time and I just can't see either losing today. Pays just over 2-1.

Wonder what price they bet about Nick beating Rafa yesterday? A wild card ranked about 140 against number 1.

He's a tempting 9-4 to beat Raonic (1-3 on) today but emotionally and physically playing 24 hours later has persuaded me not to bet on him winning again.

I remember the owner A D Spence from my days working at Willy Hills HQ Leeds, he brought off a few coups with horses trained by Reg Akehurst and ridden by Richard Quinn. I still back his horses when the cash is down, it has been a very profitable stratergy over the years.

    Good Luck <ok>

Even with the weight differences this evening I'd be hopeful Majestic Queen can confirm superiority over Sparrow (7:00 Fairyhouse) and she should be good enough for the rest. 3/1 at the moment.

So with Murray and Nadal out, Djokovic is now 2 sets to 1 down to Cilic. If he loses and Wawrinka beats Federer (not impossible), then when was the last grand slam when these 4 top seeds went all out in a 24 hour period? Dimitrov to win Wimbledon at 7-2 has to be the bet of the day now.

Ron' Do you happen to know why the site does not allow you to go directly to the last post anymore? It was always convenient.
