So 2013 is drawing to a close and to try and change the topic and take our minds off of what has been some of the most embarrassing few weeks the club has had in a while, I thought I'd start a little awards ceremony for the past year. For each award you can choose a winner and a runner-up. Spurs poster of the year: Winner - PowerSpurs - I tend to usually have a difference of opinion on many subjects with Power but that's why I've chosen him as my winner for POTY. If it weren't for Power I'd probably just be agreeing with pretty much everyone else's opinions which in essence would be bloody boring and it's interesting to find someone who has completely different views to my own, it's a joy to read and debate with . Runner-up - Spurf - Spurf is kind of like the Ledley King of the forum. When he speaks (writes), everyone tends to listen and agree (for the most part ) and usually has a calming presence about him when some of us are going into hyper mode. Non-Spurs poster of the year: Winner - Cove - His knowledge and info of the Eredivisie is always welcomed for me, I'm a big fan of the league and so when Cove comes over and posts on here about what's going on, if we're linked with players from Holland and any other bits of info, I know I'll always have a good read. Runner-up - littleDinosaurLuke - Still have a feeling Luke might be a closet Spurs fan with the amount of posts he makes on here but he's a welcomed "outsider". Funniest poster of the year: Winner - notsosmartspur - You can always count on Notso to brighten the mood and his photoshop thread is still going strong with some great stuff. Runner-up - humanbeingincroydon - I always thought I had a dry sense of humour but HBIC's is a complete level above. Chuckle at a lot of his posts. Most informative poster of the year: Winner - Spurcat - Where would we be without Spurcat's inside knowledge of what happens at Spurs? Lucky to have him here on this board. Runner-up - THFC6061 - The best matchday threads on the whole forum, I tend to pop over to our current opposition's board before we face them and their threads don't have a patch of THFC6061's. Again, lucky to have on the board. Your buddy of the year: Winner - Boss - We tend to have similar views on a lot of matters and also share a similar sense of humour (I think lol). A good laugh too. Runner-up - Roo - My partner in crime when it comes to transfer news and stories. Don't know where I'd be without him in the Summer months and January . Best partisan WUM of the year: Winner - HIAG - Is there a better WUM'mer in the business? I think not. Runner-up - No one - HIAG blows everyone out of the water that there's no one even worthy enough to be runner-up. The special thanks award: Winner - This award isn't going to one person but to the 3 mods - Yid Vicious, PleaseNotPoll and Spurf - I've said it before but the Spurs board really is a top board to interact with other Spurs fans whether it be debates, banter or sharing info and we've got a good bunch of guys that are ensuring and encouraging that. Runner-up - The rest of you - Cheers for keeping it an enjoyable place to post and interact, if any lurkers and guests wish to join in, you'll be a welcome addition. I was tempted but won't do a negative "prick of the year award" as A) I want this thread to be kept with good spirits and B) I think most of us know who the winner would be. hmph. Not choosing you now! Thanks, SOS, nice words said there about everyone, not just me. we have a great community on this board. I'll add mine over the weekend, once i've had chance to have a think.
So we have another week of everyone wondering if they are getting a mention . Being included in "the rest of you" doesn't count!
Maybe I should have done the prick of the year award, all those I listed in the "rest of you" will be choosing me as the winner
You missed "Best partisan WUM of the year" award. Surely, I would have been in with a chance of winning that?
As if there was a contest in the WUM award. HIAG is unsurpassed in his WUMmerry. Only Matth is close. However, that being said, at least HIAG is hilariously wrong with style. If he is going to be wrong, he goes BIG. None of that pansy ****.
